Flying in business class between SIN and SFO (sorry, I am not going to call it Polaris when they substitute an old configuration 787-9 on the route).
No way to pre-select meal choices on-line so https://www.united.com/en/US/preordermeals is meaningless.
I'll stop by Pret at Changi before boarding.
I'll have to ask for pajamas and a mattress pad.
Have to ask for slippers too?
Certain it will be a wonderful flight . . .

Yes, bring food! Those 50-cent vending machine chips and candies won’t worth the trips to the galley.

This thread is endlessly entertaining for me. Much appreciated. Doing my first Polaris flight in three years next week, IAH-MUC and back again, and looking forward to reporting back. Mostly looking forward to eating in the lounge to avoid what really looks like disappointment on a plate. Hoping for good service and swift wine refills. Cheers.

Just an update on my special meal question -
UA1122
EWR-CPT
July 2022
I ordered the AVML (Asian vegetarian) and was slighlty disappointed by the main meal (just an economy class Indian meal in a casserole dish) with no naan (brown roll instead of pretzel roll)--I did appreciate the plain yogurt. Green salad was better than the nasty cabbage salad others received--
Dessert was packaged gluten-free chocolate chip cookies - no Gulab Jamun.
The big "upgrade" to the special meal was the mid-flight snack, which was a lovely salad with chickpeas--
(compared to nasty sandwiches or chips for other passengers)
Pre-arrival meal was no different - just the oatmeal. I asked if I could have eggs instead and was obliged.
Overall, it was good Indian comfort food. Very cheap main course, but better than then the options on the menu (chicken, beef, chili).

That 'dish' with one egg, carbonized bacon, and rock potatoes should be fed to Kirby everyday... just embarrassing

I had an award ticket in business on Eva MNL-xTPE-oSFO,
Taipei banned transits and the only award seat available was on UA.
If there is any good to it, it was an 85,000 mile ticket on Eva. 180,000 on the UA flight. They protected me without charging me the difference.
When I'm paying, I wouldn't even think of flying UA out of Asia.

Polaris Lounge was great as always. the restaurant was busy about an hour wait for a table for 1.
My favorite thing, the potato pancake! 10/10
Rainbow trout 6/10
cookie skillet was very sugary, but that's not bad 8/10
my drink decided to show up after all my meals came.
Menus provided. Albeit mine was taken to give to another customer. it seemed no one else had to give theirs up, as the floor was littered with them upon arrival.
PDB champaign
Warm Nuts. First drink was build your own. The rest of the beverages where mixed by the FA.
Braised Beef Short rib. I did not mind it. Seemed flavorful enough. No mushrooms to be seen. But the turnips and potatoes tasted of cardboard. used my entire salt and pepper shaker. Salad was ok.
Rock solid and flavorless. i couldn't believe it. it was like the taste of water.
The yoghurt and cereal where nice. The crepe things not good.

That looks quite sad. UA serves Rajbhog food in Y for Indian meals out of EWR which are usually decent with Indian dessert. They have several stores in NJ.

A friend whom I was able to upgrade using PPs just sent me these. Wow. Just wow.
By comparison here’s NH in Y from his first segment (KUL-NRT).
