This is why UA needs to offer menus in business class. <sigh>

July 2022
ORD->MUC
787-10

Another disappointing round of catering. On the plus side, had a printed menu and my Gin & Tonic had a (tiny) lime piece.
On the negative side, just about everything else.

Interesting the menu now indicates only slippers specifically as available "sleep amenities".

I didn't get the weird cauliflower thing, but this monstrosity has to be just as bad.
Watermelon, raw fish, raisins. I guess it was supposed to be the appetizer, but doesn't really match the menu description.
Tiny portion of the cooked fish, and a whooping 2 pieces of tiny asparagus.

The roll was served warm though.

My first experience with the frozen block of ice cream "sundae". Meh.
Better then the cafeteria tubs.

OK, this was really a big miss. The avocado was disgusting. Warm green mush that just tasted "off".
Is this a thing and just United presenting poorly? I can't imagine this ever being a good idea.

Mid flight snacks were the vending machine stuff. Kettle chips, almonds, gummy bears.

ORD-GRU July 1

Apparently printed menus are back to South America routes.
I guess it was the first day as crew still repeated all the options taking orders.

Chilli was good and egg whites were tasteless, as expected.

Nuts provided beforehand, desert 3 hours later. Pre-landing, cheeseburger Wellington. Options for breakfast: burrito (above - actually really good), banana pudding and something else I dont remember.

That's strange. In the last three weeks I have been hearing FA announcements that UA is serving alcoholic drinks one at a time and no doubles.

Took the eggs, which were fantastic. The avocado was baked and it was overall far better than the traditional egg-like hockey puck they usually use. Pleasantly surprised.
It used to be that fish on flights was never good. It's almost completely reversed now, fish is usually the safest thing to order, especially on UA.

No PDB and no menus - I just couldnt choke down another Beef, fish or veggie plate - so I asked for an economy meal - this is the four cheese chicken with quinoa dish with a non cauliflower salad - definitely better than the normal chicken. Pre arrival meal was the puck of quiche

Truly as underwhelming as always

That actually looks better than what I have been served from the business class menu!

I have a hard time imagining what a fennel flan croquette should taste like! If you order them be sure to let us know.

That's why we traditionally saw the same items/sauces/sides appear every fourth month.

But with the recent menu changes, this no longer appears to be the case.

This was from one of my flights last month

7/1 LHR-IAD

Had to switch to the Dulles flight due to needing to get back earlier. Flight was on a very tired looking 757 with the old seats. Mattress pads were pre-placed at every seat which were simply awful.

I ate the 3 raspberries prior to the picture. The first smoothie was replaced as it was frozen solid. Didnt taste much coconut in it was ok once I mixed in granola and the maple syrup. Embarrassing that this is a business class food offering.

Burger choice - decent if youre in economy. Cookie was rock hard.

Vegetarian chili sounds good in general but they tend to be too salty - I'd imagine UA's version is very salty. They also tend to induce gas in some people. Not a good thing on an airplane...

Strange how the menu doesn't mention fish with the bizarre salad starter, but the FA guide does. A surprise for the vegetarians, perhaps...

And "wipe edges clean for presentation" lololololol. We wish...

Ive heard this announcement a number of times lately, usually with the emphasis by the FA stating ONE alcoholic beverage per passenger. Im going to need a lot more than one to choke down the dogs dinner they serve in Polaris.

The chili is one of my favorite meals of the existing offerings. I didn't find it too salty.
