Question: On my recent 645AM PWM-EWR flight there were plenty of drinks but no food. No muffins, or even a snack basket. I even asked the FA if they had any snack boxes and they said they weren't provisioned. Surely there must be some food on board every flight, even if it's just stale cheezits right? Just wondering if they were telling the truth or pulling my leg? Certainly not the end of the world but I would've spent $ on breakfast in PWM vs $$$ in EWR if I knew what was coming! I was kinda counting on at least a bag of pretzels. lol
And yes, very sad that there's nothing for short mainline flights.

Had the Mediterranean falafel bowl last night, ORD-LAX (via pre-order).
Wow, it was tasty. I thought it would be served cold, but it was served hot. Very, very good (though I don't mind the chicken, even after all these months).

Good to hear.
I just can’t take the chicken anymore - maybe it’s the spice. Had it again Wed night. That’s it for awhile.
Hope to have pre-order again soon. Otherwise I’ll dabble in the Ragu for awhile.

MIA-IAH 13 April 630 am 738 seat 1B
You know the drill on breakfast snack options. As always, chose the croissant.
PDB of water or OJ.
Drink orders taken first. Asked if they had sparkling/Prosecco and FA said “I don’t think so.” Not sure if that meant he didn’t know or had already checked the inventory beforehand and noticed no bubbly had been loaded. In any event, ordered white “whine” instead.
Otherwise, good proactive crew. (Two young males; rare sighting on UA.)

ORD - SFO: Snack service?
I'm flying Domestic First from ORD to SFO next week. There's hot meal service, I'm assuming shortly after takeoff. If I'm hungry 2-3 hours into the flight, do they have snacks or fruit available? What are the typical options?

Nothing official. If they have anything left from the coach Buy On Board, you could probably get something from that menu.

Welcome to FT!, flyerminutiae
The meal will be an hour or so into the flight and it only a 4 hour flight.
So, no snack service

Was offered the Revive box on IAH-ORF in first yesterday. I asked for the Takeoff box or Pringles. Was told the Revvie box was the only option. It is a dreadful option. Ate one thing, tried everything else and after one bite put it all back in the box for disposal. I mean the snack boxes aren't high quality food but that was a new low.
The FA suggested I write in to complain as it is the only way it will change. The FAsaid most people eat very little from the box and request options and nothing is available.
I like the seats in first (it was a CPU and I knew i had the upgrade) but seriously it would be better if UA just admitted they have no intention of doing anything with the soft product - food wise.

Apple chips that were very sweet - ick on taste.
Some Apple and banana thing that was inedible.
Parmeson chips that were the only edible thing in the box.
Couple of other things I think.

Seeing that LAX is an attribute of this favorable news, do you guys think UA is being strategic? Been nothing but grub ORD-DEN/SFO lately. ORD-LAX is one of the very few major US city pairs with 3+ carriers non-stop. LAX is also the best UC in US when it comes to food, bar, terrace.
