You can give million miler companion status to anyone you wish regardless of address. I've always assumed they haven't overcome the programmatic challenges of address matching - which is much harder than many realize - but I've also understood they could always try to enforce it someday.

I do think in this case though UA does need to do something, even if everything is staying the same, only because they decided to post the qualification requirements on their website as specific to 2021 flying (for 2022 qualification). Pre-covid, it was much more generic, without referring to specific years.
But if I had to guess, I'd also assume that there will be no change from this year in terms of PQF/PQP requirements. I can't really see how they could raise the bar this close to the new year.

My January travel schedule has imploded; had about $15k in UA tickets booked, but had to cancel everything due to Omicron impacts. I suspect another year of weird promos and qualifications will continue at this pace. Glad UA is extended GS through to 2023; its hard to acrue necessary spend when its so difficult to travel.

UA economy food is definitely terrible. Borderline disgusting. I had to eat that crap on SFO-TPE and SFO-PVG. Kirby seriously needs to sample the food on its tpac routes.

Well I've flown a lot of business TATL and I've tried just about all of the *A options on these routes, some TPAC as well.
Probably left a lot of miles on the table as far as MP MM qualification by flying other than UA. For now I'll probably keep trying to hit qualification though the original scheme with PQP, I wasn't sure I'd be able to maintain Gold. Had planned to take a lot of AC flights to maximize PQP.
Guess I'll have to fly more if travel ever returns anywhere near pre-pandemic levels.

I'm hoping by April or so, it will be similar to this past summer.
Some experts are predicting that Omicron could peak in Europe and North America by the end of January and then the cases will drop as quickly as it rose, so you wouldn't have these high case numbers, hospitalizations and deaths by the end of February, start of March.
Before Omicron, some were predicting a mild winter. But even if Omicron hadn't shown up, Delta was ripping through by early November.
