FWIW, UA has just reinstituted one 757-200 r/t per day BOS<>SFO effective September 30. (I just got a flight change alert for my October 1 BOS-SFO which prompted me to look.) It's been off the schedule for about two years. I assume this is a product of the 777-200HD return to service elsewhere, that frees up some 757s. Let's hope it sticks, and expands to more than 1x/day!

Has the 6am ex-BOS (Flight 433) really returned to the schedule? Am I seeing things?

Yes but all 7M9s except the one 752 flight as noted starting September 30. Remember when UA2400 (~4pm westbound) was a 772HD? Every now and then a 773 would be subbed and we had true Polaris!

Any word of 752/773 returning to the SFO-BOS schedule?

Any insight, folks? Flying J from SFO to BOS in a 737 is not exactly the ticket that I was looking for...
I tried SFO - DEN - BOS and that got switched out from a 773 to a 737. Thoughts?

the red eye 752 seems to come back later this year. We can only hope the regular service will follow.

I think I had a 773 going to DEN as my stop, but can't remember if it was that or the DEN to BOS leg. Anyhow, I intentionally chose lie flat even if it meant I had to connect. All of the legs got changed to 739M. Lie flat was there though!!!!

I changed to a BOS > EWR > SFO instead like someone else on the thread but couldn't get a reasonable flight out from SFO. 739M it is.

Checking the schedule for May next year, seems like ALL BOS-SFO flights are back on 752 lie-flats. I'm too lazy to check when the switch actually occurs

Nice! Is this confirmed or just a placeholder?

Better not be a placeholder or I'll be very upset about my booking!

Quick google flights check has it at

0/5 lie-flats in September
0/5 lie-flats in October
3/5 lie-flats in November
3/5 lie-flats in December
5/5 lie-flats in January & onward

So it seems to be more of a gradual phase-in than just a placeholder. I hope.

I'm not sure why anyone would assume aircraft and schedules for May 2023 are likely not to change on a domestic route.

Do you know that 752s have been "phased in" or if previously scheduled 752s have not yet been phased out? Have you seen 73s scheduled previously January and onward or is this the first time looking at what's scheduled?

Could obviously all be placeholders still, yes.

Uh, placeholders. Don't worry, UA will fix it.
