Oh then the catering was definitely "premium". I was offered a choice between egg white pastry and French toast.

So the current SFO-BOS situation is very confusing:

- it is CPU-eligible
- may or may not be lie-flat
- it is marketed as Business
- the catering is the same as premium transcontinental
- mile upgrade cost is the same as premium (with co-pay for low-tier members)
- gives access to UC

In the last few times I flew this route not a single one cleared from the 50-plus-long upgrade lists.

want business ... buy business. On this route in particular. You can get lucky for say Saturday a.m. flights w/ +Ps, but it is a tough route.

Pretty much. Looks like 1 flight a day is now consistently back at a 752

I was looking at an ICN-PVG flight (857). Polaris was marketed as United First and premium plus was marketed as United Business! Something is amiss!

Yeah, the redeye. Anyone know if they provide bedding? Lay flats without bedding seems kinda lacking. Better than a 737 though.

I flew r/t BOS-SFO-BOS this weekend. Westbound on a 7M9, hot breakfast and pre-arrival snack plate. Eastbound on a 739, hot breakfast, pre-arrival snack plate, light blanket, and small amenity kit.

Same experience. Flights were so packed for several weeks after Labor Day, that I found a reason to go to EWR/JFK, before going to Boston. While UA's flying transcons with 60 J seats, I'm done with SFO-BOS.

what's wrong with the 752 lie-flat red-eyes? I'd rather fly direct than via EWR.

Agreed, except the upgrade won't clear on that flight. 100% chance of clearing on a 77W. I'm trying to flush all my PPs...

Not 100% for the 77W flights that I’ve waitlisted PP on.

Agree likely better chances than the 1x 752 on this route though.

I gamble but always sit up front. Bought a cheap HNL-ORD economy ticket for Saturday - been slowly watching the seats disappear (over 25 available a week ago - now 10). Once the upgrade list appears - if I don't feel confident on the pluspoints clearing I'll take the buyup offer.
