I just completed a trip that I believe fulfills the requirements to requal for my status.
Question: when do I find out if this is true? Do I need to wait till the promo period is over (November 30)?

Probably the first indication with be the posting of new PlusPoints (for Plats and 1Ks)
Premier Platinum and Premier 1K members who satisfy the applicable Fly to the Finish offer requirements will receive their applicable allotment of PlusPoints no later than 40 days thereafter.
Normally when you requal, you status expiration data does not get changed until end of January

I'm looking at flights YYZ-KRK Nov 2-16 and in order to try to get my 3000 PQP on UA metal I'll be paying more than the minimum necessary.
I found one where it's Business/First out and Economy return for $2.8K but somehow the United flights alone are over 4000 PQP. How is this possible?

PQP from accelerator toward challenges?

This has almost certainly been answered before, but I couldn't find it. Can anyone confirm that PQP purchased through premier accelerator for a flight booked in the challenge window will count toward the challenge? The flight I just booked would have left me just under 500 PQP short, and I was offered that from the accelerator for about $1/PQP, so I took it - seemed a good deal, if it counts.

In my case, I am referring to the Fly to the Finish challenge (3000 PQP to retain 1K)

Only PQP from UA/UAX flights count toward fly to the finish. Accelerator miles will not count.

I thought upgrade fees count, why shouldn’t accelerator?

I don’t believe this is correct either.

if you upfare (ie, pay difference from purchased class to lowest currently available premium cabin fare), that would count, as you are changing your base fare. If you pay an upgrade fee, then that, I don’t believe that counts for fttf (though those upgrade fees do count toward regular PQD).

interesting, I thought I had asked that question upward in the thread and I received the affirmative at that time. Any other comments would be helpful as I suggested to a friend that a buy up in the App would qualify. So the question is does upgrading to first/business on the app qualify for PQP with the promotion

I'm finding flights where you get more PQPs than dollars spent. Is this possible?

I don’t believe this is correct either.

if you upfare (ie, pay difference from purchased class to lowest currently available premium cabin fare), that would count, as you are changing your base fare. If you pay an upgrade fee, then that, I don’t believe that counts for fttf (though those upgrade fees do count toward regular PQD).
Yes, this was my understanding about how accelerator works; it is essentially increasing the fare for the flight. Are you sure it won't count?

Not clear that upgrade fee count for the promo.
Upgrade fees and Premier Accelerator (and credit card PQPs) all count for regular PQPs but the promo T&Cs state
Only United and United Express flights qualify for this offer.

If you buy-up/upfare likely yes. If you pay an upgrade fee, that is unknown and potentially risky
That has been the consistent sentiment in this thread.

Accelerator is a purchase of extra miles. I don’t see how it would be considered a fare addition (though it may be added together with the fare as a single combined charge when you pay, but that has nothing to do with whether it is considered part of the base fare - this is the same for taxes and fees which also don’t count as the fare and toward qualifying).

Don’t forget - people used to say if you needed a few extra PQP (and PQM back in the day), to buy a ticket somewhere, purchase the accelerator, and then cancel the itinerary after the accelerator posts, but within 24 hours for a full refund, and they’d still keep (and be charged for) the accelerator miles. I’m sure there is someone on here that can confirm how this is done in more detail, but almost certainly isn’t counted toward base fare.

No, that is not the way it worked

It was a separate transaction. A few examples illustrating how they were separate.
- Premier Accelerator PQPs were posted immediately. Flights PQPs posted when the flight was taken
- No flight need to be taken to purchase Premier Accelerator PQPs (and RMDs)
- The RDMs earned from a flight are based on a status multiplier of the flight PQPs. The RDMs purchased with Premier Accelerator are not based on a status multiplier.

A For UA operated flights, no

Well, this was for UA flights - at least, the UA portion of the trip already generated more PQPs than the total dollar amount. I wonder if it's a mistake.
This was on United.com
