They’re going to cover the fodder for over 1,000+ UA FT threads and countless posts.....AND MORE....in 60 short minutes? “Onboard experience” could be its own 3 day conference. And a very grim one at that

This is all nothing more than PR drivel masquerading as a conference. The only thing missing from the agenda is 30 minutes with Joe Piscopo doing airline joke schtick. The "headliners" are all corporate customer lackeys who've been bribed with better contract terms, or perhaps with GS status in exchange for popping online to help sell an agenda that "everything is coming up roses".

We've all been down this same road before. Everything is coming up roses ..... until it's not.

My response to UAs atrocious response to the pandemic (e.g., cutting catering in the name of “safety” yet overselling planes, telling 1k’s “thank you” in excess but having zero upgrade availability) is to:

- Book on AA, DL, and B6
- Becoming a shareholder of AA, DL, and B6

My 1K status is useless.

It’s not a public conference, it’s a sales event.

But they do have their route network, and it is clear that is all UA thinks it really needs. And in a lot of cases it is true - I will fly UA because of routes and times, not because of price, comfort or service, because that is often inferior.

Except access to a good portion of their international network is closed to US resident travelers, specifically those flying for business who cannot quarantine for days or weeks on arrival. Consider most of Asia and ANZ is off-limits right now, that is not a great selling point for the ex-SFO market.

Not hearing that from UA, their recent quarterly analysis call was pretty blunt on that. Some other carriers are ramping up faster, suggesting UA is being more cautious.

United for Business

Anyone know what is the deal with UNITED FOR BUSINESS? I just got a reminder email for their webinar tomorrow at 8 am PST, but I primarily fly American... will there be special announcements, contests, news, freebies, promotions other airlines match?

Well, to recap... "more to come..."

Somewhat as expected, nothing really of substance. Two things stuck out to me

- Goal of adding JFK-ORD/IAH/DEN to increase connectivity to the rest of the network, plus some true "point to point" flying, but "nothing to announce today"
- Completion of Polaris mods will be "fast-tracked" coming out of the pandemic

Other than that, nothing really noteworthy to anyone who's been paying attention.

I was hoping for additional info regarding more clubs opening but Luc Bondar just said hope to have them open later this year. He also punted when asked about elite status.

Did anyone catch Luc Bondar's comment about some additional Q2 promotion towards premier status? Something along the lines of "choose your own adventure" and pick either an additional PQD deposit or accelerated earnings? It was the first I'd heard of it and haven't seen anything discussed about it.

Q2 is 1/3 over. If there’s a promo to be had let’s see it!
