But no need to do that until the end of the cardmembership year when you see you have other uses for it.
How do I figure out the cardmember year? It would be easier if they just go with calendar year...

For a recent new card, it will be the month of your first billing.
If an older card, when was the last AF billed.

Thankfully it's plastic. I can't stand metal cards! Such a gimmick

It's composed of corbomite, the heaviest substance known to the Vulcan Science Academy.

I have the very old United MP Visa card that gives 3x on UA purchases. Can I call Chase and upgrade it to the Quest and still get the bonus? Or do I have to apply separately and then cancel the old card?

Do not believe Chase will do a bonus on a product change. Needs to be a new application (and not done for that card in the previous 2 years)

The only benefit about PCing is that you don't have to wait one year for the 2x 5K bonus miles for award redemption.

Any recent experiences using the 2x bag benefit on a flight?

I have reservations with United paid with other credits cards and when the flights got cancelled, UA re-issued the ticket and on the ticket e-mailed to me both first and second bags show as $0. But when I login to check the reservation with United, first/second bags are still $35/$45 or $130 for international. United rep tells me that they are included despite the Quest card not paying for these bags.

I know the deal is that you need to pay your ticket with the Quest card to get the bags for free, but why would there be these information mismatches? If charged, can United consider the ticket receipt sent to me, which shows both bags $0?
