YVR-DEN cleared yesterday at the 1K window, minus ten minutes. It's an E175 and SHARES even automatically booked me into my favorite seat on that plane, 2A. That's an improvement over past years since the merger when the upgrade would not book into a specific seat, and you'd either have to log in and do it yourself, or wait to get the dregs at check-in.

Cleared CLE-EWR-BOS (both segments) at T-96 for a Sunday morning flight. Also cleared BOS-EWR at T-96 on the 5:45AM (ugh) flight on a Monday morning.

Cleared DEN-DFW on 10/11 at 96hr window, but for the first time in 20+ segments on the route, MSO-DEN was seeming all booked in F at booking in what was previously a 100% CPU route for me. Weird.

11/10/2016. 2 pax. Both UA Gold. Not counting on clearing. Split reservation for upgrade odds, figuring if one snuck thru it would go to spouse.

LAX-CUN #1654 ZQ fare. Both cleared about two hours before departure. Had 18/20 booked, max I saw in the app was 13 checked in. Maybe a connector flight glitched as looked like 6-7 others cleared, guessing down into Silver or even op-ups (flight sold out) as the woman next to me was AC flyer and she got upgraded.

11/15/16. CUN-LAX #1277 W fare. 19/20 booked. Ended up as numbers 2 & 3 on list so missed the CPU.

More data on CPU clearances.. my flight tomorrow was booked 11/20 this morning (F9 PN8 R6 I6). Sometime before T-24 they sold a ticket and ran a sweep. Cleared seven CPUs, so now the cabin is booked 19/20. While upgrading elites is generally a good thing, I really wish they would stop clearing into the last several seats. Flight is now F1 and will likely sell out, leaving no options for SDC/IRROPS.

Cleared IAD-BDL on a CPU in RN. Route was wide open in R and other classes. I have previously cleared an IAD-BDL r/t in RN both ways.

Will report back on the flight back when the window comes.

But I got the shock today as a UA plat of a ORD-LAX CPU clearing at the opening window of three days! Perhaps because it is this Saturday on Christmas eve

Cleared YVR-SFO @ T-48 (2x Gold).

I just wish United would use all that computing power they have to figure out that I have never in my entire flying career flown in a window seat, yet they always put me in one when an upgrade clears.

I've had LAX-ORD clear three days in advance as well as few times, as long as it's a Saturday. UA Platinum as well.

Can't even get an upgrade on BUR-SFO as a 1K. Apply RPUs to other flights and they don't even clear.

Cleared TPE to SFO yesterday (21st) but not SFO to BOS, I had 3 FA's ask me why I was sitting in 39C, I just smiled and said it's fine. I am running about 50% hit rate on between BOS and SFO this year using RPU's or GPU's. I would estimate my hit rate on transpac legs is closer to 75%. Europe is too short a flight and not worth burning a GPU.
