The WARN filed with the State of Wisconsin says 140 first officers are facing a lay off due to “diminished operations” and the lack of “United Airlines’ need for Air Wisconsin’s services.” I frequently wondered what their plan was based on the age of the aircraft and the disdain for CR2s by flyers, but figured the costs associated with the operation are decent. While travel is in flux for all carriers, I wonder what the outcome will be for regionals especially. Maybe, if GoJet fails the CR2s could go and CR5s could be transferred to Air Wisconsin. I mean, ExpressJet folding before the former two really was unbelievable, to me.
