Not sure why UA does it this way other than to guard expectations against unforeseen delays.
Yes, I know UA has been tight lipped. I was more looking from reports from random employees. It's a bit difficult to track that kind of thing.

eek, March, hope, EWR is having better luck.

Yes, I saw that, I was asking about the other lounges, ORD, IAH (or anything new on EWR)

What is the lounge to be next door? A second PL?

Oblique reference to shuttered PL?

edit afterthought: actually do I recall correctly that they are planning to expand ORD C16 club to the 'left' (toward C1)? There is something going on in that area, I think.

The bartender I spoke to in B6 told me December 15th was their target date. Coincidentally, an agent doing check-in at EWR told me that was their target date as well. So while they are technically opening in Q4, it's so late in the year they may as well have pushed it back to Q1'22 and not have gotten everyone's hopes up.

Sorry I'm a little slow, December 15th is for ORD or EWR? I was thinking EWR since you said EWR but I don't know of any B6 club at EWR but there is one at ORD if I recall, so just checking in to clarify which PL you meant? Thanks!

Edit: Re-reading, Im starting to think you meant 12/15 for both EWR and ORD?

They are expanding the UC I take it. PL stays as is (and for time being still dark)

With EU-US travel going to skyrocket in the next few weeks, there really is little to no excuse anymore to keep PLs closed.

Maybe that is why UA has decided to open the PL with TATL traffic in the coming weeks. TAPC gateways SFO and LAX will be later.

Although "skyrocket" may be a bit optimistic, many businesses are still holding off international until Q1 at the earliest.

Every report in this thread suggests EWR sooner, before Thanksgiving.

This is what I thought as well from multiple people reporting the same thing but below seems to provide a recent counter-example of this. Unless they were referring to inquiring about ORD at both B6 club in ORD as well as EWR counter.

Just curious because I am treading a very thin line, Polaris flight out of EWR early December and flying back into ORD just days after that 12/15 target date.
