Definitely still second class service.

Can’t wait to see how bad in flight service is for the 48 of us upfront.
They’ve got a Polaris flight operating out of DEN?

that’s because they hadn’t received the onboard catering yet 😁

Anyone been in Dulles lately? I have two of the Chase passes I’m looking to use tomorrow. What is the food looking like for lunchtime? I know the IAD lounges aren’t great, but neither is IAD so I just want to use them there instead of say EWR where there are actually some interesting dining options. My flight is leaving from D, is the D8 lounge significantly better or worse than C7? I do enjoy plane spotting so I want somewhere with a half decent view

Does anyone have EWR Polaris open date?

Flying back from NRT during on Nov 16 and would love to use it for the first time since March 2020.

Same - would love to have the Polaris burger at EWR - but I'm flying to/from BOM at the end of October - and then in November as well...

Enjoy the 789 swap . Hopefully the PL opens soon. Somewhere above it was said it would open latest by Thanksgiving if all goes to plan right?

Actually, I changed from the "inaugural flight" of the 789 to the last flight of the 77w... ::shrug:: - better day to leave...

IAD D lounge this afternoon is ... interesting ... very quiet, maybe 50% full. Coke Freestyle machine is OOO and the food is Sushi...and...Barbecue Lays

I really wonder who comes up with the food for this hub.

I was at IAD D8 lounge from 11ish-12:30ish…I saw the BBQ Lays, but sushi?? Interesting. When I was there, there were buffalo chicken and tomato mozzarella wraps, pesto pasta salad, Milano cookies, cheese, instant noodles etc. The wraps and pasta salad weren’t half bad, one box of those wraps may have fallen into my backpack for the flight. I would have appreciated some type of “fresh” dessert like brownies or cookies but oh well. Also noticed the Coke machine was broken.

Based on this link (review of new IAD PL), the idea of international Polaris Lounges is dead, or at least on long-term ice:

The original roadmap for the Polaris business class product also included Polaris Lounges at Hong Kong, London Heathrow, and Tokyo-Narita airports, but United has quietly dropped further expansion plans. “The product is exclusively domestic,” a United executive told us. United Clubs outside the US also remain closed at this time.
https://loungereview.com/first-look-...U23qFWSLhQRh6g

Disappointing, but not unexpected. With wider HND access, NRT plays a different role in the network going forward. HKG may never return to its prior level of service; in fact I would be mildly surprised if the UC even reopens. LHR might be the more likely option in the distant future, but it’s a gorgeous United Club as it is, with many amenities consistent with the Polaris Lounges.

Right - I think existing UC handles departures and transfers with no problem. They just need to reopen the arrivals lounge.

Just realized that I connected at ORD yesterday off a Polaris flight (FRA-ORD-IAH) and forgot to ask for any type of Polaris chit at the B6 lounge. (I wasn't offered anything at check-in.)
