This is fair and true but I wonder if they'd open an entire PL contingent upon connecting traffic. If so, then cool for sure but seems a bit off from the United mentality. Who knows, 2022 will tell us more perhaps. But without that LHR flight returning to LAX, not sure how much I like those chances

I doubt we'll see the LAX PL reopen until LAX-LHR resumes and UA can start carrying full capacity to Australia again. Maybe by March of 2022 (HND launching as well), and most likely the last of the PLs to reopen.

A shame, because it's my favorite of the Polaris Lounges.

Also, unlike SFO, you're not going to get much partner traffic at the PL LAX.

Does anyone know what the expected hours are on these PLs? Some of them (like EWR in my experience) opened really early so arriving pax were able to use them before connections, will this still be the case or will they only be catered to departures?

They hope to open SFO/LAX "early" in 2022, but I doubt it. At least they are talking about it...
Man this is frustrating. I’m based at IAH and have been doing Tokyo trips for years. Having the direct flight with the 11am departure was perfect. Get to the airport in plenty of time to enjoy the breakfast buffet and several Pipers before boarding. With the direct flight cancelled in Mar 2020, every trip now is via SFO, and the 7:00 departure from IAH is too early to enjoy the PL if it reopens. I was really hoping to see SFO open. Oh well, at least the Centurion Lounge in SFO is back to normal.

Just pulled into IAD at C18 and for m the ramp side the PL looks very finished/ready to open (decorative light fixtures and everything on) ... From the terminal side some pipe and drape inside the doors limiting the view but also lights on looking fairly ready to go

With the US beginning to admit non-essential travellers from 8 November, does anyone have any insight as to when LHR T2 UC may re-open?

Just passed thru T2 LHR on UA and there were no updates. But, you have SQ and LH lounges in T2... SQ requires recent PCR test though.

There was activity in the (old) Terminal A United Club yesterday. Lights on and people milling around inside. Not open yet but hopefully it's coming soon.

Which airport?
Without ‘(old)’ in front of Terminal A, I guess that it is in EWR. The new EWR terminal A has not opened yet.

Until it opens, call it "Terminal eh".

UA has previously stated if international travel resumes, than some international UCs may reopen by end of 2021. That was a while ago and things have taken longer to reopened than was assumed at the time of the UA message. I think common wisdom on FT is the LHR UC might be the first international UC to open. A lot will depend on how international business travel picks up, it is still way, way off 2019 levels (>-60%) -- but UA has insight into bookings, a leading indicator.

You are correct... my mistake. Indeed the new EWR Terminal A has not opened yet, but interior work is underway and we are reaching a point at which I think it makes sense to distinguish... though my omission of the location ensured my post was confusing regardless!

I am surprised, however, that MEX has not yet reopened, given that the traffic rebound there is further along than LHR/NRT/HKG/GUM.

No Polaris amenity in Denver

Absolutely gobsmacked that United (el cheapo) can’t even spot a Polaris pax a free drink in the massively overcrowded United Club in Denver. It’s not like we’re overflowing with long haul international flights here in Denver at the moment and it’s not like a free premium drink would bankrupt the airline. Definitely still second class service.

Can’t wait to see how bad in flight service is for the 48 of us upfront.
