IMO that is the biggest draw to the SFO Amex lounge - something like 6 servers who fill drink orders instantly. Boraxo hates waiting, particularly as I often have only 15-20min in a lounge.
All of the clubs I've been in relatively recently (LAX, IAD, ORD) that had the Coke Freestyle machines pre-pandemic have them operating in full force -- CLE requires a bar visit for a Coke, but it always has (e.g. not a pandemic-imposed change) -- agree, though I hate having to wait, bug a bartender, and tip for a simple Coke (or Coke with Lime if freestyle...)

Coke machine in the SFO G Club was working on Tuesday. Not very crowded around 2:30, it started filling up when I left around 3:30, but still a fair number of seats.

I'm set to fly IAD-BRU on 10/21, so there is at least a statistical possibility the IAD Polaris Lounge will be open. As an eternal optimist, I am choosing to be hopeful about that. As a realist, I take "opening late October" to mean "the cleaning crew starts removing the sawdust on Halloween."

Whether that lounge is open determines whether I leave the office at 4 PM (for my 6 PM departure) or at 2:30.

However, I'm returning FRA-IAD on Oct. 31. I assume there's a much better chance the lounge is open then, but I'm taking the evening flight (5 PM), so it looks like I won't arrive into Dulles until after the midfield CBP station closes, meaning I won't be able to reenter security after arrival.

Just want to confirm that after IAD, ORD/IAH/EWR will all open this year. 100% confirmed by UA at a meeting last night.

They hope to open SFO/LAX "early" in 2022, but I doubt it. At least they are talking about it...

It's crazy that United is being so vague and cagey. Is there a plan or isn't there? I'm flying Polaris next month from ORD and the ambiguity is deeply annoying given how embarrassingly mediocre the alternative is in the United Club. If your doctor, mechanic, or partner was this cagey you wouldn't trust them.

Not only that, many UA Clubs are also closed after 6/7pm - that was the case at IAD yesterday evening. So I had a long trek to the one open UA Club, all for one measly drink token (not more) for a "premium" wine.

I've received a second chit on request. Kind of annoying to do so much back and forth, like at an old department store. Not sure why they can't just do the hole-punch like at EWR.

I was in the ORD B6 club yesterday and found it to be one of the best in the system - and as I sat at the bar, Polaris customers were getting free flowing premium drinks. The several Polaris customers I saw come up to the bar all seemed to be in a positive mood.

Good news!
And UA better sharpen their cooking spoons looking at some very nice feedback on AAs reopened Flagship lounges.

Really? I was at the C16 club on Sunday and witnessed a frustrated Polaris customer complaining loudly at the check-in counter about the lack of Polaris amenities.

Yep - at least at B6. Group of passengers heading to the Erasure concert in London (you can't unhear those things) and they were definitely getting a head start on their trip. A happy bunch. They were getting all the premium drinks they wanted.

As an OC guy I would love LAX PL to open but where's the justifiable polaris service out of LAX? the 5 people that can fly to Australia? Tokyo flights arent very full. Unless they have other flights that will return soon.

Could be a lot of originating traffic to Europe/South America via SFO, IAH, ORD, etc?

The specific IAD PL thread just had a post with Oct. 27 as the rumored date.
