(To be sure there were not many places that were open to us prior to this summer, but that has changed).
Projected travel (bookings) for Q3 is down, TSA numbers have flatten and now slightly fallen vs Aug 2019, business travel is still greatly reduced, businesses are delaying reopening offices. While some are traveling, most are not internationally.

As one would expect UA is closely looking at forward-looking international bookings to guide them. As much as we would like for this to be over, it isn't yet.

Irrespective of Q3 reservations, if UA intends to offer Polaris going forward, they need to get the lounges open again. Period.

At minimum, open ORD and EWR PLs.

A few pictures of the offerings at BOS club this morning. There’s pre-packaged oatmeal, muffins, bagels, avocado toast, ham and cheese rolls, jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches, etc. Only about 10 or so people here, the views of the runways are great as always.

Stopped at DEN East this morning. Packaged hard boiled eggs, packaged oatmeal, muffins, bagels, bowls of fruit, etc…slim pickings for sure!

Also, nothing special for a Polaris itinerary (though I’m not flying Polaris from DEN, so maybe that’s why?).

They set up different items on both sides of the Club, so double check the other side - usually have sandwiches of some sort and some more substantial offerings on the side without the muffins.

And DEN had not had a PL preCOVID. Believe the extra items for Polaris class passengers have been only reported at locals that preCOVID had PLs.

Yeah, that was my thought too, but I was just checking.

FWIW, I just got to the UC at SFO, and didn’t get anything special here either. Even mentioned “The Polaris lounge isn’t open, right?” as a hint to the lady that checked my boarding pass, but she just stated probably not until next year…she missed my hint!

Ahh, okay…and what do I ask? Something like “Do you have any specials for Polaris passengers?”?

Be a bit more direct, "I understand since the PL is closed that PL passengers get premium drinks and other benefits, is that correct?" Have your BP available.

Success! Mentioned basically that the bartender, and he said that I needed to get a special card from the front desk. Went back up there and asked about it. No problems after that. Thanks!

Each UC operates differently. ORD B6 check-in agent puts a stamp on the BP and bar attendant will serve you unlimited “premium” drinks (not as premium as those in PLs).

Oh yeah, the “premium” at the UC is definitely a step below the premium at the PL!

But points out the total fail by the desk agent not to have given you the card in the first place (even with the hint). Why is it such a challenge for UA to find and train employees (or contractors, if that's the case here) to execute these simple tasks?
