Appears not able to do early. Would only be 30K miles for those with $450 renewal
Call center said promo ends Sept 30.

Just wanted to follow up here. I signed up for the club card last thursday (9/10) and the fee did not get charged yet. I called Chase as I also wanted to redeem the 35k miles for the $525 fee prior to the end of the Sept 30 promo. Chase has told me that the card will be charged on October 1st and there was no way to expedite the fee. They stated that all United Club fees are charged on October 1st, but i'm not sure if this is true. Chase also stated that the ability to redeem miles for the annual fee is not limited to Sept 30 and will be present after. My second question for them was if the rate of redemption would be different after September to which they replied they were not certain and I'd have to call United for the answer.

Called United - Representative has confirmed that the redemption rate will not change before the end of the year. He did bring up that my United account states that my fee has already been paid and my membership does not expire until December 31, 2020. He was quite confused and reached out to his supervisor and wasn't really sure how Chase was handling the fee and membership on their end. I brought up that it could have been due to the extension of subscriptions due to covid.

If both representatives were correct, this seems like a pretty good way to get a UC membership. The card nets 100k miles after $5000 in spend in 3 months. You are also able to redeem award miles that are not earned from the credit card to get a statement equivalent to the annual fee for only 35k miles - netting 65k miles and a UC membership for $5000 in spend. I'll update on October 1st to see what happens.

Thanks for this! As you know, I received my new card a few days into September and have not been charged either. I have an option for using 35k to pay for the card in Choices, but the fee isn’t there...so ...not sure what’s up. Sounds like they don’t really know either.

Got my first statement and NO charge for the Club access. I think this falls in line with your Oct 1 date. I am not going to call anyone asking for a charge, lol. I really hope that it's still 35k once the charge hits. Time will tell.

Still no physical UC member card. Though I think they might not be doing physical cards anymore?

I've already had a first statement and still no Club charge. Not sure when this will happen, and hoping I can still use only 35k miles for it.

Also, looked at my membership card in the UA app and it says my membership is good until December 31, 2021. So it appears they will not charge the 2nd Club charge until 1/1/2022?

Called and my card expires in two days. Said I would need to renew my Chase Club card and virtually no deal offered. It would be nice to get addition time as my club use in 2020 was minimal.

That Diet Coke, crappy food offerings and dudes working in the cubicle space with no masks on isn't really worth it, is it?

Starting to look that way isn't it. I may dump this card upon renewal. Seems like Chase and UA need to get there act together as well. On a follow up phone call yesterday UA said my membership is basically up today but Chase is saying that is wrong and not until the first of the year. At this point I don't care I am just tired of paying for as you put it really nothing.

I was able to SWITCH over the phone to the stock UA Visa (non-explorer) right before my Club fee (OLD Club card) was due in May. I had no need for a club with zero travel. Once I realized I may need it again, I applied for the new Infinite card, and since I had the previous Club card bonus about 4 years ago, I qualified to go for the 100k miles. Kind of gamed it but...fully within the rules.
SPN Lifer and evol like this.

Just wanted to confirm that the promotion we discussed earlier worked. I was charged my $525 annual today, on October 2nd. I saw the charge and went right to the United Choices site and redeemed 35k miles (that weren’t even earned from using the card) to reimburse the $525 annual fee. So if you’re able to spend the $5k in 3 months you will walk out ahead with a year of club membership and 65k miles. Seems like a pretty good deal if your able to make use of the club.

Likewise! Fee was charged Oct 1, and I just went and applied the 35k miles, and it went through. Miles already showing as deleted in "Recent Activity". **HIGH FIVES**

Let's hope the club improves and more open in 2021 or this was a complete waste.

Sign up bonus

About how long does it take for the 100k bonus to post to your MP account? I completed my spend a few weeks back and no sign yet.
