OK, so. The CSR is 3x all dining and travel and CSP is 1.5x everything else, good for 1.5% back on all travel, while UA miles are, well.......

The tradeoff appears to be UA club vs PP. And I assume UA club is only good when flying UA/*alliance?

Since my spend is 1/2 UA and 1/2 hotels (or so), this is a no-go for me. Close, but no cigar.

Yes, the United Club made a change late last year that you have to have a same day * alliance ticket for entry.

So this is $75 more than the current club card, with the tradeoff being 4x on UA versus 2x on the club card, and 2x on dining and travel, 1x for everything else, versus 1.5x on everything.

The "everything else" category is my biggest, so this doesn't help me.

So the 2x for everything else was indeed fake news. Its 2x for dining and travel.

I'm glad I opened the old UA Club Card with 1.5x for everything. Defintely a better deal for me since I use this card for all non-bonus category spend. Everything else goes on CSR.

1.5 miles per $ (Club Card) is better than 2% dining and 1% other.

Looks like I will pass in this and cancel my Club card too.

If it had been 2% for all general spend I would have gotten it.

Reference?

Don't see a positive reference but neither a definitive negative reference.

They missed the plot with this new card. Nothing really premium other than the fee.

It’s better IMO but not for me. I’m sticking with AMEX Plat (and Chase Bonvoy Boundless).

As 1K/1MM the Club membership isn’t compelling at all. I’d only “need” the UC on domestic itineraries. I don’t need it at my home airport (PDX) nor at DTW where there’s an LH lounge or IAD (TK/LH). The Priority Pass and Centurion access trumps the UC, and if I really need a UC I’ll get a one time pass from by AMEX airline credit. Add to that I can use the PP for the contract lounges at international outstations where UA now denies access to *G in economy.

The 4x on UA purchases is very good and 2x on dining and travel is fine. But I get 2x on everything with the Bonvoy card and 6x with Marriott purchases.

The primary coverage for rental cars is also very good (beats AMEX Plat) but don’t you also get that with the Explorer?

As a 1K (now, with travel gutted so far lord knows what I’ll be next year) I don’t think any airline card would work for me. That’s unless United came out with a “titanium” card with massive benefits (I’d pay $800-$1000 if I got say Marriott Platinum and Polaris lounges in any class, 20 PQFs, and 5x UA/3x travel&dining/2x everything else). But I can dream.

Yes and I don't see much value in this card as I have said in another thread. I'm already a *G so UA club access through this card is useless to me. I have yet to have been to a UA club and been wowed by it. I read that UA Club Hong Kong was good, but I was so disappointed when I went there. CX and Centurion lounges are miles ahead.

Not really worth it unless you spend a ton of money on UA tickets. I will stick with my Presidential Plus / CSR combo for now.

After reading about coronavirus for several hours, this was the laugh I needed
Indeed you can dream. People would probably pay more for that.
