I just got my annual fee and checked. It is showing 1.0 cpm now. At that rate I’d rather save my miles for flight awards. Maybe it changed January 1.

Ouch. Quite the devaluation.

Devaluation might not be the right term. Still better than it traditionally has been (closer to 0.8 cpm), was 1.5 cpm for about 15 months. Always assumed that was to compensation for the closed clubs and/or the inability to travel for most.

May be targeted, but I noticed a 120,000 mile offer on united.com this morning. That was enough to get me to finally pull the trigger on getting this card.

Excellent! I also was approved semi-instantly, despite the website saying something like "You'll hear from us within 30 days." Approval email arrived 1 minute later, and my United Club membership was active within 15 minutes, in time for some travel this week. I was also able to add the new card to Apple Pay via the Chase iPhone app, though doesn't show up as a payment method on united.com yet.

This is tempting. I'm just on an Explorer card. But I think I could meet this spend, especially because I could make a payment on a cruise in 2023. A trip where I'm hoping to book a Business class ticket to South America using miles/points. I don't travel much and I'm not a credit card expert but this could be interesting. It would be nice to have the club access. I need to see if we can take advantage of it.

Not sure what current rate is, but I'll try and find out and report back. Sometimes procrastination pays off. I was going to sign up in February and when I saw the recent thread update about the SUB going to 120,000 I had to pull the trigger today. Instant approval. Entered my MileagePlus number and accounts were instantly linked.

Does anyone know if I have to wait for the physical card to arrive before I can access the United Club? I don't see access in the app yet.

I think it showed up on the app by the next day. Maybe sooner, but I wasn't checking constantly. The card arrived 2 days or so after approval.

I've never once had to show my card for UC access. Check the Passes/Subscriptions section of your virtual wallet in the United app. If the virtual United Club card is in there, you should be good for club access.

The credit card is superfluous for UC access. I sometimes see people trying to show the credit card as proof they should have access when something's gone wrong with the membership-MP#-BP linkage. And the credit card is never considered adequate; they have to find a membership card to get in.

You guys were right! Showed up in the app when I checked this morning.

At UC now, didn't even show pass in app to access, just scanned boarding pass and I was waved through. Thanks all!

Question for folks who hold this UC Infinite Card as well as Explorer: Don't you feel that keeping the Explorer card is a big redundancy and a waste of $95 annual fee?

I just received my UC card this month and now it's dawned on me what should I do with the Explorer card? Has anyone ever asked Chase to migrate them to a different card? Perhaps the equivalent Sapphire Rewards card?

Mahalo for you thoughts and advice!
