United cracking down on... um... adult movies on their personal devices

Did we miss this one? Apparently there's been a problem with passengers viewing inappropriate content on their personal devices. United is doing some additional training of FA's to deal with this.

You’d think American would have a more severe issue considering they’re pulling out all of their IFE on the narrow body fleet.

This is an interesting problem for FA's , for sure I think it is wrong to be be watching a down loaded porn movie......but..... I
have seen people primarily international pax,men and women watching by US standards some pretty racy stuff , except in the less puritanical/more liberal places they come from it is downloaded main stream TV and not viewed as pornographic in the context of this thread. Anybody who does any degree of Euro travel knows that.

No IFE at all, not even streaming audio and video to personal devices? I doubt that.

Anyways, a few years back, I thought I saw someone watching porn. Then I realized it was "True Blood". The line between porn and a "real" tv show is getting blurred.
Though, occasionally, I was surprised to see significant nudity on actual IFE.
I dont consider streaming "IFE" since you need to provide your own device.

Now at the same time, I feel like one should not look at someone else's screen so in THEORY, it should not matter what one watches. Ofcourse in practice that does not work.

IFE system manufacturers refer to streaming services as "wireless IFE," and I think I'll take their word for it.

Not exactly the same, but I was one time asked by a FA to please change the channel. On the live TV aircraft, I was enjoying an episode of Air Crash Investigation on Smithsonian Channel. Totally understandable I guess given the recreation animations.

Not so sure I would agree that it is understandable but would have begrudgingly complied myself.

That was actually a joke in "Airplane!". The plane was in distress and the passengers were shown watching an inflight movie- and it was an air disaster movie!

Just like you, I've notice them showing it on live tv, Weather Channel, I think. I even recall watching the beginning of Sully during takeoff.
When I first got into watching that series, I watched it so much, I would watch it on the plane. I recall one time watching it on a tablet and noticing the guy next to me also watching it and looking shocked, yet he did not look away.
In my mind, he shouldn't have been peeking on my screen so it's his own fault. If something is on general cable, I think it should be ok. It should be up to the neighbor not to look or the parents to supervise their children. Thats where it starts turning into us having to be inconvenienced for someone else's random issue.
Porn is a different story

Let's be fair here. There are some movies in the seatback entertainment unit with very suggestive to explicit scenes.
