Especially on United. I love foreign films, and one thing where United really shines is they load lots of new foreign films onto their entertainment systems. And, of course, some of those films are filled with nudity (especially the films from Europe).

I once turned one off when I realized how explicit it was, because I was sitting next to a 8 or 9 year old boy and his mother in a row of 3 on the plane. I didn't want to cause any conflict.

I see what you did there

I don't get turned on while flying, so I find this behavior a bit odd - but I guess I'm ok if minors can't view your screen - and as long as folks are wary of visible extremely violent content too.

I'm a nervous flyer and I got a little anxious even watching the last Mission: Impossible movie in-flight. And that's only a helicopter chase/crash!

I actually am more bothered by someone watching extremely violent content than the only other think I have seen - fleeting nudity in certain films. I think American's acceptance of violent content and prudishness about nudity is silly. (and I am not talking XXX stuff here....)

My comment about screens at the seats was partially in jest, but I rarely see anyone watching their own screens when he airline provides one, and I would not be surprised if some of this is people who have porno loaded on their lap top (because it is not otherwise available) who turn it on because they don't have anything else to watch given the lack of in seat entertainment on UA domestically. Sort of a side effect.

Who knows if this is an actual problem. If you look at the release from the organization that precipitated this, their release uses words like "apparently" and "appears to have struggled with." Looking at their agenda, they're simply anti-pornography in general, without differentiating between public and private actions. Reviewing past targets, there's a clear use of "naming and shaming" to draw attention to themselves, without actually providing evidence of a problem.

and some USA airlines’ IFE can be extremely adult - violent / bloody (Ready Or Not) or sexual (forgot title). That Ready or Not movie really scared me - all that blood and that dumbwaiter scene... Think that was United in November!

‘Reminds me of the time I was watching a multi-episode series on the history of New York which I had downloaded to my iPad and I coincidentally happened to reach the episode about o/11 just around the time we were reaching cruising altitude on a flight. I was fine with watching that footage on a plane, but I switched to something else so as not to upset anybody who may have been looking over my shoulder.

I watched Ready or Not on SQ, and then realized a lot of other airlines have them, so it's not just US airlines. Most of latest releases on new titles are similar across the board.

LOL, I did the same thing except no one told me to turn it off. It kind of eventually hit me and I figured I better change the channel before someone freaked out.

I’ve been embarrassed at times when certain scenes happen while watching Narcos. By the time it happens, it’s too late, so just gotta power through it.

It was the same watching Game of Thrones. I'm usually in the window seat, so during the certain scenes I'd just rotate my screen a bit more towards the window.

I was watching A Clockwork Orange in-flight many years ago, and just made sure there were no pre-teens in the area.
