Miles upgrade to Polaris on coach award ticket?

I'm flying out to London from EWR in June. I took that flight last year and we used miles to upgrade to Polaris from a paid coach seat. If I was to use miles to buy a coach ticket this year, would there still be an option to potentially upgrade up again ? I'm thinking no but wanted to ask here to be sure.

Thanks

No, you can't do that. You can monitor business availability and rebook, though.

If you get a saver award ticket, you can call in to waitlist for an upgrade to saver business. You may have to nudge the agent, as this isn't a well-known feature.

You can't even buy up before T24, if at all. Ridiculous if you ask me. At least throw an offer out there, however absurd it may be.
