What type of aircraft is it and how long is the flight. Are you in Economy or Economy Plus now?

The seat will be the same as standard domestic First, and the meal will be similar, except with two hot options instead of one hot / one cold. You'll also get lounge (United Club only) access at EWR.

Here are threads with pictures of Domestic F meal service:

It's nothing special but for the length of the flight to me that would be worth it.

Exactly. I would do it in a heartbeat just for the additional space.

$189 is reasonable to upgrade on this flight. I'd consider it fair value. United Business service in Latin America falls somewhere between a standard domestic flight and a premium transcon. Usually, the entrees and desserts are different from the domestic rotation, plus there are printed menus. The UC access is nice if you don't already have a way in.

What you're really paying for is not to be in economy. At $189 for a six hour flight, I would take it.

I value United Club access at EWR Terminal C at $0.

UA - consistently selling cheap upgrades out from under its elites.

Booked 13/20, 6 names on the upgrade list. This is one instance I don't have a problem with UA selling 'reasonable' upgrades.

Nobody is stopping the elites from buying an upgrade (or buying the F/J ticket outright).

For a flight that length that almost seems like a mistake - as in it was very low. I'd immediately grab it.

And the $189 will count towards PQD now.

On that note, what is the minimum connection time in EWR. I am flying in from LHR connecting to PTY and wonder if I can take the later flight, with less than 2h connection time (I have Global Entry)
