SFO-TLV flight on June 14 - different time
Hi - I am not sure that this warrants its own thread but I did not know where else to post my question. The flight leaves SFO at 5:30pm instead of the usual time, which is 9:30pm. I was looking at other flights that week. I wish they offered that time on the other days but it seems to be just on the 14th. Does anyone know why? And is it common to change the time?

It occurs on the second Thursday of each month 6/14; 7/12; and 8/9. Kind of strange -- per EF there appears to be a schedule anomaly or gap in the schedule 9/14.

Thanks. That is even cutting it close for Sabbath. In the summer, it could work but a religious person would want to be at home or wherever before sundown.
It also seems to stop in November? That is when the schedule goes back to the 787. It is also probably when El Al will start flying that route.
I really wish this was offered more often. I hate getting in so late...

But more likely it just has to do with 77W rotation times.

Im on the 9:30 PM flight from SFO on a Saturday and like the 9:40 PM arrival as its close to my bedtime of 11 PM. On the return I get in at 6 AM on Saturday and badically just start the day like normal.
I am fortunate to be able to sleep on planes in Y so the jetlag will be minimal..I did the 6 AM arrival into JFK on Delta and the 3 PM departure to SFO and I mucb prefer the 6 AM SFO arrival as opposed to JFK.

HA. I would love that but I am not rich. I am not even in business very often.
I have routed myself through EWR a few times though. But that is when I was flying from LAX. I won't from SFO because one flight is better than two even if the one gets me in late.
I am ok with the return. It is just getting in late and settled in. I like to shower, unpack, etc. That said, the flight usually does get in early. It is what it is but I would prefer 5:30.

SFO<>TLV Swapped to 787-10 Last Minute ( & swapped again back to 787-9)
Flying home on UA955 (TLV->SFO) on Friday, February 1st (so basically 24 hours from now in TLV)... got an email a few hours ago announcing we'd swapped to a 787-10. It seems this was a last-minute change and is not permanent [it's only for this single night based on a few searches I just ran]. It looks like only UA954 leaving on Jan 30 was swapped to 787-10 and then my return flight on Feb 1st.
I called GS about getting a better seat and they said it wasn't possible, that a few people already were downgraded because the aircraft swap (from 787-9 to 787-10) had resulted in fewer Polaris seats. Any idea what would cause such a last-minute change? This is a weird one IMO!
