See https://promotions.united.com/offers/premierstatus for your offer ( Now available for 2020)
In recent years, in January (typically the second week or so), UA has offered status-buy programs. Generally, UA has limited to no more than an additional 15K PQMs or 15 PQSs ( and similar limits for PQDs).
Past year programs
January 2013 17 Jan 2013
January 2014 13 Jan 2014
January 2015 12 Jan 2015
January 2016 19 Jan 2016
2017 UA MP elite status buy-up offers (for higher status than earned in 2016) 20 Jan 2017
2018 UA MP elite status buy-up offers (for higher status than earned in 2017) 24 Jan 2018,
2019 UA MP elite status buy-up offers(for higher status than earned in 2018)-- 11 Jan 2019
2020 offers -- 10 Jan 2020
Buy up ≈ MAX(rounded PQM gap fee, rounded PQD gap)
Those rules seem to work >90% of the reported cases. (at least in 2017,2016,2015)
PQM gap chart form earlier years, with PQDs requirements things have gotten more complex
Is it worth it to stretch for 1K (over Plat)? [2019 Consolidated]
Is it worth it to stretch for Plat (over Gold)? [2019 Consolidated]
Is it worth it to stretch for Gold (over Silver)? [2019 Consolidated]
Is it worth it making Premier Silver? [2017-2019 Consolidated]
Will UA Grant 2020 EliteStatus if I am XXX PQM/PQS/PQD Short of Qualifying in 2019?

Just missed re-qualifying by a few dollars
I just missed maintaining my current UA 2019 status into 2020 by ~$400 qualifying dollars. I know that AA has the option to pay $ or miles to keep your status, but it doesn't seem like UA has the same option (at least I can't find it).
Any hope of bridging this gap after the fact? If not, I guess I will be switching to AA.

FYI, buy up appears to now be active, and certainly looks in-line with prior years; I was at nearly 73k PQM, 29 PQS, 7.2k PQD. Buy-up to Platinum is listed at 2799.
(Given the changes we already know, I'm not dropping the equivalent of several first-class domestic tickets on 40 points; half of my travel is EWR to BOM, where most of the 777 has status. With the new JFK-BOM route, 2020 has now started as my first year with Delta.)
GLTA!

Seeing the same thing
2019:
Basic Member
30k+ PQM (mostly one NZ J trip)
1700 PQD
$1450 buyup to Silver. No thanks.
My SO was Gold
70.5k PQM
50 PQS
6.7k PQD
$3650 buyup. So ~$1400 for the PQD and $2250 for the PQM, I suppose.

Same. ~65k PQMs, just barely $6k PQDs. I mean, I'm not going to bite (going to concentrate my travel back on DL), but I was curious what the numbers might be.
