United Airlines Award/Premier Accelerator Rates [2020]
The website is once again allowing accelerator purchases and my offers are a little crazy. How about yours?

All in, my most recent offer for PQMs was 15,000 PQM for $2,025. So the miles are similar in price, but the premier part is obviously higher since it is a dollar value for the points. I would say they are slightly discounted, because I would subtract the strictly mileage amount, and the cost is less than $1/point.
I was curious about how they were going to handle this change. I expected dollars only for status with no miles in return, honestly.

1K on revenue ticket:
50,000 award miles = $1,000
75,000 award miles = $1,500
50,000 award miles + 7,000 PQP = $7,790
75,000 award miles + 10,000 PQP = $11,200
1K on award ticket issued by SQ:
9,000 award miles = $225
11,000 award miles = $275
9,000 award miles + 1,300 PQP = $1,473
11,000 award miles + 1,700 PQP = $1,907
50,000 award miles = $1,000
75,000 award miles = $1,500

And both having to spend a few hundred dollars for a few thousand extra RDM. But at least one can buy PQPs without having to do MRs. Essentially obviates the need for MRs, in fact, correct?

If you enjoy traveling (or if you are willing to spend your time doing it) you can book with and fly on a partner airline and pay 30 cents (or less) per PQP.
So, while you don't have to do mileage runs, you might choose to in order to save most of the cost.

Not sure if it's really a drastic change from before. You could always use premier accelerator to pad mileage requirements and upfare existing flights to full fare Y or J to pad the dollar requirement.

I feel like I would much rather just buy upgrades or fly to see my brother in ATL for a few more times versus paying cash for PQP at almost a 1:1 rate. At least you get something for your money.
I did buy 1000 PQM last year for $95 to get me to Gold for 2020 (50,011 PQM), but only because it was cheaper than any flight I could find.

Anyone actually buying the PQPs offered through Award/Premier Accelerator? They seem to offer a very slight discount (e.g. 300 PQP for $288 on a recent offer I received). Not really worth it IMHO, and the offer doesn't scale (it was 98cpp for a higher-PQP offer on the same flights, vs. 96cpp on the lower-PQP offer).
