Brave new world - First flight in the new MP

Just checked in for my first trip under the new rules. MP tells me they are not ready yet, so my earliest indicator will have to wait a couple of days.

Why is four flight minimum waived?

My guess that is still driven by the 2019 waiver due to thr Chase Club card, I expect that to go way when UA switches to PQP & PQF display.

MileagePlus Premier program: New qualifying metrics to appear Jan. 3

We’re working on updates to the United MileagePlus® Premier® program. For flights in 2020, you’ll earn Premier qualifying flights (PQF) and Premier qualifying points (PQP), which will begin appearing in your account on January 3 at 2:00 a.m. CT. Until this time, your 2020 Premier qualifying balances and flight accruals will not be displayed, but rest assured that any activity starting January 1, 2020, is being counted on our end and will be displayed correctly on January 3.

Is it fair to assume that FPQM will not be eligible to be converted into FPQP until this tech work is completed?

Yes I think that’s fair to assume.

Don't forget your snugly blanket and teddy bear when stepping into that Brave New World.

Don't forget to post your Milestone/Status information once the new information is running and running on United.com and United App.

Makes you wonder what the complication is - obviously UA is focused on not recording something lest activity should post and subsequently need to be rescinded. Alas, this 1K is done chasing status, 1MM *A lifetime Gold is what it will be. Free agency, here I come!

Not really; considering what a mess the PlusPoints migration has been, and the fact that you have a rolling target for when the PQP / PQF changeover should be (the first PQP-eligible flights would have landed well before the last PQM-eligible flights departed), the IT department clearly wasn’t ready.

In the past, it’s been common for UA to take a day or two to get the counters to update. This is the first year that they’re trying to mix that with the faster posting model they adopted a few months ago.

Actually, the results are odd. The flight I was just on posted just after landing, as usual; I got award and lifetime miles, there’s no line item for PQP at all, and there’s a PQF line item but it’s zero. (And, no, it wasn’t a BE ticket).

Of course, if you need to check the PQP that will be awarded, just divide the “base miles” for the flight by 5.

For any of it. They’ll be digging out for months.

Thanks for the update!

Any word on when the upgrade process will be fixed? How about StW availability on TATL and TPAC routes? I think most of us care much more about these issues than which day in January PQP and PQF will display.
