That's one positive sign of screens being added. I hope this continues and becomes a trend.

It's positive if it rolls out to the rest of the 772HD fleet. If it doesn't I would be wary of this...could be an HD international configuration without Polaris or PP since they are ERs.

The HD 777 has been replaced on international/Polaris routes by the 787-10. This is for ORD-HNL/OGG (which are consistently weight-restricted) and potentially EWR-HNL.

This is good news for Y.

A full extra row of lie flat would have been great, but 4 extra seats is something positive.

It would also be a downgrade for everyone on the plane. I sure hope they keep a 763/764 flying EWR-IAD/HNL, but with 77Es getting the HD retrofit, I doubt it.

I wonder if EWR-HNL has a season that could use the extra seats. With Hawaiian on the NYC-HNL route UA could lowers its ASM cost going to the 772ER Domestic config. If the Y seats are needed more on the EWR-HNL route vs. another route, then UA should use the 772, seasonally or year around.

I took a look at the HKG and XMN mod lines and put together a spreadsheet that' available here
https://sites.google.com/site/united...s-mod-schedule
It shows aircraft remaining without Polaris (and 4 domestic 772ERs) and the mod lines at XMN and HKG.
The estimates assume a continued nose to tail program with average mod times. I'll update it when aircraft are completed.

Obviously estimates and mod lines can change, so this would need to be adjusted when each aircraft exits and enters Mod. Let me know if changes need to be made.

I don't know if they have different positions at HKG, but I cont 7 mod lines at HKG and current 2 at XMN. Mixing and matching fleets with Mod times estimates would mean:
772GE - Estimated last flying in old config 4/20, program complete 6/14
772PW - Estimated last flying in old config 4/23, Polaris program completed 6/12, Domestic program complete 6/17
763 - Estimated last flying in old config 5/12, High J Polaris program completed 6/30, 30J Polaris program completed 7/14
NOTE: assume High J converted first, then 30J version.
764 - No tracking or projections, but program could start in May understanding UA may wait until after Summer season.

There is a swap of about 20 E+ becoming Y seats, maybe due to lavs. AVOD screens will be installed with new seats. Routings have not be revealed, but ORD-HNL/OGG should be included to avoid weight restrictions.
Weird. I guess it's basically a subfleet since the ERs will be operating EWR/IAD/ORD specifically, but still surprising to not keep fleet commonality. I guess moving the lavs would be way too expensive and putting Y forward of door 2 way too weird

The only reason they are 767 now is because they don't have a 77G which can make it to HNL.

With United cancelling all their flights to China what will happen to the mod line in XMN? Will this delay the Polaris upgrades or any maintainance requirements? Can they do everything in HKG, for as long as that remains open?

Why would XMN mod line close if HKG stays open? I would hope the mods would continue as planned and too bad they probably can't be expedited with aircraft parked.

320:
N4912U Ex Vuelving unit entered CLE 2715/31Jan, storage or moving to GYR?

752:
N19141 entered MIA 2759/30Jan for 16/160 config.
