Pillows and blankets in F (non lie-flat) red-eye HI?

Question from you experienced folks. On a 737-900 HI->LA red-eye in F (non lie-flat), are blankets and pillows provided? I remember a lie-flat HNL-EWR a while back with no blankets and pillows in F so I have low expectations.. but I know things have supposedly changed.

I have a bright red DL blanket someone gave me; Iʻll bring it for badness just in-case ;)

At best you'll get the tissue-paper thin blue blanket. No pillow.

I thought as much, but I was hoping red-eye HI flights had a bit more service these days. Connecting to Polaris to Europe; annoying to have to bring my own pillow for the first of two red-eyes :(

You don't say where you're connecting through, but is a 777 to SFO an option?

As Kacee said, at best you'll have the paper thin domestic blanket. But I've been on HI red eyes that even lack those.

The lie flat planes often come with the Polaris blanket, but it's been my experience the pillow is hit or miss with it. On non-lie flat flights, there are never pillows.

KOA-SFO is only 737; didnʻt want to connect via HNL, so no lie-flat. Not a big deal, as Iʻm Polaris the rest of the way to Europe.

So, definitely no pillow, and small chance of the thin blanket. I guess Iʻll bring my own - I have a nice bright red Delta one for the purpose. Mahalo all.

I was booked on lie-flats on a 757-200 from LAX-OGG on 12/24, but I checked the itinerary today and it got swapped back to a 757-300 with regular F seats.

Slightly disappointed to say the least...Will UA let me switch since I paid for the upgrade specifically for the lie-flat seat?

No, because you booked a cabin, not a specific type of seat.

Yes, a change in seat type qualifies. What kind of switch are you thinking about?

Really? What kind of seat swap does it have to be?

The CoC does not specify, but generally lie-flat to non-lie-flat is an easy one to get an agent to agree to. The 781 to 752 swaps on EWR-LAX were also accommodated with free changes.

But to be clear, Rule 24 says change of aircraft involving "different seat configuration" qualifies as IRROPS.

Interesting thread hijack. I did have a 787-10 flight (EWR-LAX) that OP mentioned, that switched to a 757-200. But, sadly all the other UA flight options that give me the 781 would bounce through SFO, resulting in a SFO-KOA non-lie flat. The 752 Ps at least ensures lie-flat all the way to the islands.

jimmc66 - Lie flat F or non-lie flat F?
