Fare on Google Flights Not on UAL.com

I was looking to book a trip to Cabo. Searching UAL.com the cheapest non stop was $3400 for Business Class.
In checking Google flights, I got a fare of $990 on a flight which wasn't even listed on UAL.com.
I chose the Google fare and it transferred me to the UAL site so I booked it.
What gives? Why didn't this United flight show up on UAL.com?

Google will always build cheaper fares than United.com

I understand that Google may build better fares but why doesn't the flight I booked via Google even show up on UAL.com?

Different search engines are optimized for different preferences.
Does the lower fare have longer layover or some less desirable feature?
UA limits the fare searches to some fixed number (200?) but Google does not quit so early and therefore can find options UA does not get to.

yeah I find google will show way more results than UA, especially here in canada where one segment is a partner airline for me most of the time, almost always cheaper although sometimes you can get a multi-city itin on the UA site to price out cheaper for some reason maybe try that too first

There might be an explanation (by looking at fare filings, bucket inventory, etc.), but without knowing your route and dates, it's difficult to say.
