2. No, will not be pursuing this strategy but still will try to qualify
I am locked in Denver and am a domestic flyer. I have qualified 1K 23 out of the past 26 years with the three years I didn't qualify I wasn't traveling very much per job requirements. I have no problem making 1K in the current system and will make it with the new qualification criteria. It will be interesting how this change affects the overall Premier qualification numbers across the board.

4. As a Lifetime Gold, I won't get higher even if I try to play the system. I will now ensure I keep Silver with BA and otherwise will be a free agent.

I took advantage of a TK sale fare that I probably wouldn’t have this year. I have another purchase planned that will be ticketed on LH or AC stock, but would have been ticketed on UA stock under the previous earning rules.

I will definitely be doing this, but am torn about PE vs holding out for a great J deal.
I flew AC one time, YVR-NRT-YVR, and the seat was very, very uncomfortable and I was hardly able to sleep. The NH seat looks equally uncomfortable - any feedback on this option? I am really bummed I missed out on the NH LAX-BKK deal in PY next year, at 650, I just needed 4 of those trips.

I will not, because the only *A flights I will be taking in 2020 outside of the UA will be intra-Europe flights. I will still earn more buying UA metal vs. *A metal for TATL economy fares in peak summer season.

No.
I have booked a bunch of AS tickets for travels later this month - $118 roundtrip non-BE cross country ticket with a good probability of F upgrade - score!
I had never been committed to UA (or *A) in the first place. So changes to the program, any program, however large or small, have little to no effect on my behavior.

1. Yes.
Taking full advantage of great deals on Air Canada to Asia.
At 1.2mm it's not worth shooting for lifetime plat over earning 1k for the next few years. Will still fly UA domestic and most of EU.

Yes. Booked a YEG-RAK trip in J on AC, earning about 2.2 PQP per dollar spent. The PQP yield could be higher, but I chose to do an FRA-YVR return leg on an LH 744, since the opportunities to ride the big bird will only get scarcer as time passes.
