Will UA Grant 2020 EliteStatus if I am XXX PQM/PQS/PQD Short of Qualifying in 2019?
Does anyone know if UA will give out 1K if you spend enough but fall short on the PQM? I'm likely to hit over $30,000 in spend but will fall short of 100k miles. Any anecdotes of them awarding status based on PQDs only (aside from GS, of course)? Or is $30,000 not actually that much spend and they probably have lots of Platinums spending that much each year?

Man. That must be some expensive short-hauls. (Assume long-haul flights are getting the OP major double PQMs).

Will be short $9.00 PQD
Do WiFi subscriptions count toward PQD? Economy Plus subscriptions?

Thanks WineCountry
Ugh. The cheapest E+ subscription is $599. Not a viable option.
My current status is Silver. If I buy a E+ seat on one leg of travel, will that count toward PQD?

Thanks all. I'm just debating whether to keep putting more big spend on short domestic trips on United or start spreading it (i.e., Southwest flights are often more convenient for me in location and timing). I've debated an MR near end of year, but I'll probably be quite short of the 100k PQM marker, so it would need to be something like a Singapore or Australia run, which sounds brutal in economy!

There's no rule that says a mileage run has to be in economy. Keep an eye on the Premium Fare Deals board, or just price something out and see how it looks. Keep in mind that you may get a PQM bonus for flying in PE or J also, so you might have more flexibility in your destination than you think.

That being said, if 1K won't get you upgrades on your regular travel and WN has a better schedule... indeed might be worth considering a switch.

More than half of that is two biz class flights to Europe, which only netted maybe 40K PQMs. Then a bunch of IAH-DFW and IAH-ORD type flights, often refundable fares (but usually M so no PQM multiplier). The cost of those starts to stack up
