Would you pay $673 more to sit in Polaris EWR-BOM RT over PP in my situation?

I am a 1K with 5 GPU's left for the year. I am travelling EWR - BOM on 11/26, coming back 12/3 and fare-locked a Polaris (P fare) for $3068. When I last checked there is a premium economy A fare for $2395 on that same flight. Also I need roughly $2200 (PQD) to get me to 1K for 2020.

Is it worth $673 to forgo the stress of your upgrade clearing? I am not often in a situation where I have to use GPU's on international flights of such length and have never been in Premium economy. Is it that difficult for the upgrade to clear on this flight?

Thanks everyone.

Yes, definitely since it's roundtrip. That's less than $350 each way, on one of the toughest upgrades in the system. Plus you get extra PQM, RDM, and now you can use the GPU/PlusPoints on domestic flights if that's what you fly more often.

Absolutely on two flights that long, especially with the 77W product ... no brainer!

"Would you pay" questions are subjective. The better question is, "what does this cash mean to you?"

I would pay it in a hearbeat and it represents good value to me. But, if it meant having my house foreclosed, I would not.

Where do you fit?

There is no difference between P (OP said it's "P" class) and all classes for Premium Economy, Both earn 150% PQM.

Gg buyup means. I change fee to buy up in fate clas

i would imagine going from J->PE May cause a change fee to be initiated so $300 of your savings would probably be eaten up.

Would I? Yes
Should you? Up to you. Judging from the ratio of Y to J seats on the plane there are plenty of people who want to torture themselves. PE isn't as bad but I would still take the J seat if you need the PQDs anyway.

As others have said, this is a great value. I would absolutely pay the difference for business, especially for such a long flight.

That's a 14+ hour flight no? I'd pay that each way. Roundtrip it's a nobrainer.

Yes, I think 15 going and 16 coming back.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks I know what I need to do.

If willing to fly Delta booking thru Amex travel (with plat card) it's often $2500. Expedia with hotel is sub $2000 but likely only from Jan going forward.

Why does "R" need to be open? "R" is Premium Economy which OP has already booked (could be O, A, R). PZ is what they need for an upgrade with instrument.
