Re-qualifying for 1K in 2020? Will you make 100K+$12K PQD, but not $15K PQD?
Couldn't find a thread specifically addressing this question. Long time 1K member here. With the 1K re-qualifying PQD limit raised to $15K, this year, I am wondering how many current or would-have-been 1Ks will not qualify for 2020 despite reaching 100K PQM and last year's $12K PQD threshold. I am still hoping to reach the 15K PQD requirement by December 31st, but this included the purchase of two P fares RT to Europe (first times I purchased P fares for personal travel) to -barely- make it.
Interested in thoughts and more data points from the community. Let's focus on the 1K re-qualifying rather than covering all Premier status re-qualifying. Other specific threads can address the silver, gold, and platinum qualification. Cheers, szbenny |

I'm actually the opposite, I easily reach the $15k threshold but cut it close on the 100k on some years. Hoping UA does not go the way of DL and raise the mileage threshold as well.

For some reason this year I have the opposite problem. Have been a 1K every year since 2012, most years by the skin of my teeth. This year by July I was sitting at over 150k PQM and $24k PQD. Will probably end up at close to 200k PQM and $27k PQD. If only UA offered roll-over PQMs like DL does!

I will have enjoyed my year as 1k. It was a struggle to meet 12k last year, no way I can hit 15k this year. I can hit 100k miles no issue, it's the spend. Which sucks because there are people in Ontario (Windsor) who live closer to DTW than I do who are exempt from the spend.

This will be my last year, trying to meet the 1K requirements. I do not have any problem reaching the PQM threshold. In my building, there are, at least, five 1Ks this year. There will be only three 1Ks next year (40% dropout).

Will hit 137898 and $16,187 for 2020. Currently hitting PQM early at 102120 with $13,238 PQD. 11 TPAC long hauls this year.

I requalified in August

PQD was the first hurdle I met for 2020 qualification.
As for me, I'm in the latter group. I may not make either threshold, but I'm more likely to make PQM. PQD will likely require some amount of manufactured UA spend (e.g., paid upgrades or PQD run). |

I think if you fly int'l biz PQD are likely to be easy but PQM harder; if you fly economy, the reverse is true.

I was going to be at PQD of $14k for the year,: currently at PQD of $11k and PQM of 120k. So doing a PQD run for the additional $1k of PQD and will end up for the year at PQD: $15,180 and PQM: 157,700. I did not think I would make 1K for 2020. 2020 will likely be my last year as 1K unless my plans to move outside the USA happen in 2021 but realistically that will be more likely to be 2022. |
I will requalify for 1K later this month, with PQD being the limiting factor. I would not have made it if I did not fly a non-P fare to/from Hawaii up front earlier this year. I have zero shot of requalifying in 2020, in part because of the PQD threshold but also because my leisure flying will substantially decline with a newborn in tow - so my actual BIS will go down substantially as well, and my domestic business travel + FPQM from the PP credit card will just get me over the threshold for Platinum. It has been fun while it lasted, though!
|
I will end up at around 126,000 EQM and around $6,200 PQDs if nothing changes or I don't get more business travel.

I am over $15K but slightly under 100K miles.

I’ll re-qualify by about $150 at the end of December, but only due to playing around with fare classes in booking my last couple of tickets. Last year I re-qualified by $3. :D. I can’t remember the PQM’s, but I was comfortably over 100K last year, and will be again this year (moreso last year when P fares got 200%).
