BUR-LAX UA2816 15 min. scheduled flight time

I am flying out of Burbank after this flight, but what's interesting is the 15 min, travel time today. It seems the 2pm SFO flight is rerouted via LAX.

I'd be impressed if wheels-down to block-in at LAX is under 15 minutes, let alone the flight. Possibly faster than the 405 though

No fares filed, but you can book a YN/JN award on this flight. LOL if I were in LA today I would so do it.

That's too bad. I suspect it would make for a good milage run (since that's 500 PQM each way) or segment run! Perhaps even do some SDCs on the itinerary to rack up additional segments (i.e. LAX to BUR via SFO, DEN,ORD). LOL

It appears to have few dozen pax on it, probably IRROPS accommodations since its regularly scheduled BUR-SFO canceled. Wide open an all revenue classes; surprised it doesn't price in XN or IN.

Per FlightAware it appears to be an Airbus A319:

No CRJs for these star studded pax! I wouldn't be surprised if there was demand for such a flight given the Hollywood types could easily stroll out of the studio and head to BUR to get into LA in style!

Safe Travels,

James

Looks like one lucky passenger will get the F cabin to himself (if the current upgrade standby list stays the same)

Hopefully they have enough time to commence meal service...oh wait, UA doesn't serve meals in F unless it's a couple hours in length

Here's what a 40 minute flight on BA in J looks like:

Good chance than an RPU might work on this flight.

I wonder if the ToD Upgrades will truly be tens of dollars. Knowing UA's IT it'll likely be $6,535 for the upgrade to F

Amazing flight path over Chinatown and Downtown LA. I was 10 minutes away. Flight cruised at 5,000 feet. I will regret not taking this flight for many years to come...

Sched dept 2:12 actual 1:56
Sched arriv 2:25 actual 2:52

13 min trip taking 56 - pretty consistent with my driving expectations here...

Btw 3:56 pm sfo flt seems delayed until 9 pm so 4-fold delay is a standard here today..

It's got to be all the taxiing that bird did at LAX. If I were a passenger on board, I sure hope I had a stack of cash on hand to give the pilot to feed the meter! What does a mile of taxiing at LAX cost these days?
