Did I luck out on a mistake fare?

I booked this recently through United for about $1,500 a ticket during peak season. 4 premium economy legs, 3 of which are on ANA metal. Looks like I'll get lounge access when departing for SIN and from BKK to NRT.

IAH > ORD - United (B)
ORD > NRT - ANA (R)
HND > SIN - ANA (N)
BKK > NRT - ANA (N)
NRT > IAH - ANA (K)

From what I've seen, typically during peak season a round trip ticket to Tokyo is around $1,500 or more. Seems odd I was able to get this kind of itinerary with premium economy for $1,500. Did they have a sale on premium economy that I coincidentally booked at the same time, or is this likely a mistake fare?

Looks very similar to this one posted on the MR forum: NH/UA: ORD to BKK from $1199 (Y+)!

Wow, that's a good price! I've seen premium economy for over $3k so thought it wouldn't be discounted so much but I guess they can be. Thanks for sharing!

It's only a mistake fare if you find a good deal to TYO. It usually costs 1/2 the price to fly twice as far and connect in TYO, and their TPAC flights to SE Asia have been very affordable for at least the past 3 years. The odd thing about NH is that fares usually seem to be 50% less when booked codeshare on UA. The prices also seem to vary widely depending on exactly how you organize your search on multi-trip flights, even when looking at the exact same flights.

Hey now, don't ruin the fun! It's fun to feel like you got one over on them.

You got lucky on striking a sale fare, not a mistake fare.
(Don't jinx it!)

Unless you can score a direct flight from IAH to NRT under 1000$ for premium economy, otherwise it's not a mistake fare. The promotion fare for the route above is usually around 1800$

Iíve found the PE fares incredibly reasonably priced, sometimes ~100 off available economy.

I also got LHR>IAH>BOS return in P for £1500 for this past August.

Deals are all around, but nothing here sounds mistake worthy.

We are currently in a time of insanely cheap Premium Economy fares as the product is rolled out to many more airlines. It won't last, but it's definitely deliberate. Enjoy while you can
