3 trips @$500 for 39000 miles.
I'll have one trip for sure, perhaps 2. But the third? $500 is not worth 39k miles.
I don't know if it matters, but remember that if you book a round-trip as two one-ways, that should count as two trips for this promotion (assuming you meet the spend threshold).
Even worse offer: Book 4 trips ($250 minimum), earn 3,000 miles Pathetic.
Exactly same opinion on hitting it.
Same offer. Same opinion. It's possible, because I've only booked work flights halfway through September. My normal schedule has me flying weekly. So if I reach it, I reach it. If not, 3k miles is not a big deal to miss out on.

Unfortunately, international doesn't work well that way.*
*Well it actually works really well for the spend criteria, just not so good with the expense report.
By the way, I can't access the "fine print" right now, but do they consider 'PREMIUM Plus' a PREMIUM fare in this case?
Yes:
3. All travel for Trip must be in a United premium cabin, including United First®, United Business® or United Polaris® business class, or in United® Premium Plus (fare classes: O,A,R,C,D,J,P and Z).
