148h 50m connection

Haha ... this is what I see for my upcoming flights. Returning after 6+ days, but it shows as a connection

Yes ... RT.

Under trip details, there is a line between my arriving and departing flight that says "148h 50m connection" (I'm staying for 6+ days).

Laugh if you want, but this is becoming "the new normal" for award flights with the Great United Devaluation of 2019.

You can thank married segment logic and United's new policy of intentionally making every award flight routing as miserable as possible. Expect a lot more of this in your future if you ever redeem mules for an award flight.

I had a paid flight I took recently show up this way. Nothing was out of the ordinary as far as the flights were concerned, but it made my google calendar entry rather interesting.

No, it isn't.

There are enough problems with United's changes. There's no need to make any up. Transfers greater than 24 hours are not going to be offered on an award ticket.

My mileage runs typically show the return starting in a connecting city. For example, some years ago, EWR-HKG-SIN-HKG-EWR, showed EWR-HKG as the outbound, then HKG-SIN-HKG-EWR as the return. Just recently EWR-SFO-SIN-NRT-EWR showed up as a EWR-NRT trip with two connections, probably since there were fewer than 12 hours in SIN, then NRT-EWR as the return trip.

If it was a "connection", did you get your return boarding pass as well when you checked in for the outbound?

I did not. The flight check-in, etc. was normal both directions. It just showed wrong online.
