To find your PQDs if >than $12K
Go to
MileagePlus activity since my last statement and it is in the "Account summary" table at the top of the page.
Note this is not just the UA operated PQDs (which is commonly believed to be what matters for GS) but rather your total PQDs.
Definitions
BIS is actual scheduled flight distance (Great Circle Mileage Distance -- GCM) between airports with 500 mile minimum for elites. This is the standard used for Lifetime miles also. Those flying mostly sub-500 segments sometimes prefer to not use the minimum rule.
The definition for CPM is a bit vaguer, especially since CPM is used in multiple different situations.
Believe for the purpose of this thread, GS qualification, folks are using
PQD CPM = UA PQDs / UA BIS
Note there is no direct evidence UA uses this CPM number for GS Qualification but it is a number FTers like to use.
As for BIS, UA does not report this number your account and it needs to be manually tracked.
One way is to make use that PQMs are based on BIS but there may be a multiplier / bonus for high end fares. If always in 2x PQMs, you could divide by 2 to get BIS.

2019: (finished for the year) PQM: 320K, PQD: $64,570. All United Metal. 3 International J trips. Rest domestic first.
Based out of ORD.

Checked Mystatus.united.com today. Still says Premier 1K. No email or voicemail.

I just checked mystatus.united.com and saw my status changed to GS (it changed today, because it still said 1K earlier this morning - 10 hours ago). Just in time for my first flight of 2020 tomorrow!
First time GS after being a 1K for past 12 years.
Thanks for everyone on this thread who explained the process and timing for new GS vs renewed GS.

Are there any GS for 2019 still waiting for a requal notification? Just curious if there are more to go out later this week.

I’m not sure if there are more to go but I had GS in 2019 and my account is still under review this morning. Fingers crossed but not feeling terribly optimistic

My status changed to global services last night! I am a first-timer. No call or e-mail yet.
Stats:
2019- PQD: $59k ($54k United metal)
2018- PQD: $32k ($16k United metal)
2017- PQD: $20k ($10k United metal)
Many of my flights are Polaris to Asia or Europe. I’m thrilled to be “in.” My flights are split between EWR and IAD with the occasional PHL flight.

I was only at 41k PQD (all UA metal) so not terribly optimistic. I do most of my PQMs on paid intl J and I wasn’t able to travel internationally in Q1 last year which brought my PQDs down. My CPM is very high though at c50cpm (c 80k BIS miles and 140k PQM) so that’s probably the only thing I have going for me at this stage. Going to seriously miss it if I don’t requalify (especially upgrading intl saver awards!).

Requalifying on a challenge offer - T&Cs?
Have any of you guys used a challenge to re-qualify in recent years? As in, you don't re-qualify on your stats (possibly ask for reconsideration) and United offers you a "spend $XX,000 in YY days" challenge to earn it back that year?
If so, do you have the T&Cs handy? I'm wondering if the challenge spend considers only tickets booked after the challenge is offered/accepted.
I'm very much on the bubble this year (7 years GS, $38K on UA metal last year after consistent $50K-$70K the last few years), and am getting ready to book a trip for late Jan. Wondering if I should book it now or wait for a potential challenge...
Thanks!
