Anything I can do about this flight delay? UA4308 {2 Aug 2019}

UA4308 has been delayed three times now, and is now scheduled to leave three hours late. Is there anything I can do? Silver traveling with a Gold on separate PNRs. I don't hold out much hope, but I know Flyertalkers always have good ideas!

The app should let you switch your flights for free if you so wish. I don't think that's going to help much - CLE-EWR is also delayed.

For others wondering: UA4308 is CLE-LGA.

OP, looks like thunderstorms in the New York area. What are you looking to try and have happen?

Move your flights to tomorrow, grab a rental car and go to cedar point or the great lakes brewing company restaurant downtown and try for tomorrow? :-D

I'd love to talk my way into lounge access, but I don't know if that's possible.

With a good story, a smile... and $59 per person, they'll happily sell you lounge access.

(I've never seen it offered to customers due to a delay).

Good information. I won't even try, then.

Y'all don't happen to have any complimentary one-time lounge passes on account of a co-branded credit card, do you?

FWIW, I've always found delays to be where lounge access is particularly helpful.

LGA has a ground stop. Update time is 4:00 PM EDT. Then LGA has a ground delay program until midnight.

You can track the ground stops and delay programs at this link.

United is not in the habit of giving out lounge passes for delays, much less weather related ones. Would totally overwhelm already crowded lounges if they did.

In similar circumstances, I have been unable to get lounge passes from UA.

So what do you think the odds of us actually leaving at our revised time of 5:30 and landing at 7:30 is?

I have Priority Pass so just got $56 credit at a restaurant. So I'm still alive.

Hard to say as you're stuck waiting on the inbound frame and will miss your slot assignment (EDCT). Sometimes priority re-slotting ends well; sometimes it doesn't.

No way to tell.

As I type this, your wheels-up time (EDCT) is before your inbound airplane arrives. Depending on what's happening in NY airspace, you could be released as soon as they turn the airplane and push you back or ATC could assign a new EDCT time.
