An ID is scanned during initial biometric registration. An individual's document (usually a driver's license) occasionally does not scan correctly (worn/faded/scratches/code resolution/etc), so an alternate ID (eg passport) might come in handy at initial biometric registration.
I’m an existing CLEAR member with an annual subscription, can I take advantage of the United preferred pricing for CLEAR?
If your CLEAR account was created or renewed less than 60 days ago, you’ll receive a refund for the difference of what you paid. Refunds normally take 3-5 business days after you add your United MileagePlus number to your CLEAR account.

So, I try to sign up and get the " MileagePlus number does not match the name entered above. Please try again. " error...
But having checked multiple times, it is. Anyone else seeing that error?
Do you need the Mr/Dr/whatever or am I just completely jetlagged from all the flying and therefore blind?

Hate joining the +1 train but wow, this is the best news I've heard today. Really could use CLEAR in those once in a blue moon occasions especially at some airport without Pre-Check. This will be extremely useful but definitely not worth more than free. $100+ a year was too steep for me.

Is there a deadline after you enroll to get verified? It may be a while before I'm in one of the existing airports (or I may just need to wait until they come to EWR).
Just signed up (along with Mrs. tarheelnj, a MM status match), both of us at $0. Noticed that adult family members are an additional $50 each normally.
As reported, the sign-up did require a credit card number, even with a $0 payment. I used a one-time virtual card number from my AA Citi card (Chase doesn't offer this), so if they start charging later, they'll need to contact me and I won't have to remember to cancel (if that's what I choose to do).

When I (1k) travel with my spouse (silver) we're usually on a single PNR. How does Clear deal with this, would we both be able to use Clear, or just me? I know that for pre-check if one has it, then both on the PNR get the check-mark, but wasn't sure about Clear as you need to do biometrics.

Ok, I've seen the machines in various airports I frequent, but have never noticed how many customers/agents are around them. Nor have I ever noticed anyone being taken to the front of the line at those airports. It could be happening, but I've not been looking for it.

Basically, airports with CLEAR essentially means there are three ways to get to the carry-on screening/metal detector/nude-o-scope area of security: the good, ol' fashion regular line, the TSA Pre-Check line, and CLEAR. Preferential treatment ends immediately after passing the TSA ID checkers.

Awesome! My origination airports are usually HNL or OGG, so never really interested, but “free” makes the economics better. Signed up and will finish enrollment at LAS tonight when I get back there after a same day r.t. to Houston for business.
Saw it this morning at LAS T3. Clear kiosks before TSA queues. Once Clear passenger finishes at kiosk, Clear associate escorts passenger directly to swing gate at TSA podium (bypassing TSA credential check line) and opens gate.
TSA Pre is pretty fast at LAS, so not sure of benefit until I try it for a year,,.

There are also the lines for elite and premium cabin passengers, with or without PreCheck and/or CLEAR.

recently waited 30 mins at ATL at TSA pre ... Clear would have been 2 mins. It is all about options and this one comes free. No-brainer for me!
