787-10 Polaris vs Swiss

Hi all,

Flying to BRU later this week and can either fly thru EWR on the UA 787-10 or take swiss on the A333. This will be in business class. I have flown Swiss many times but this would be the first with UA. Which one is better?

Given both seats (IMO) are relatively tight, I would take the 78J since there is more privacy. Air pressure will also be better.

On Red-Eyes I prefer the 78J for above mentioned privacy. Service is better on LX though

The Polaris seat is tight, but it has better padding than the LX seat. For a seven hour red-eye, I would go with UA.

That is debatable.

Flying thru EWR, much easier to enjoy Polaris lounge prior to a United flight, without having to worry about getting over to Terminal B for a Swiss flight.

That, plus the chance to fly a new plane, would lean me toward taking United.

With that said, if you're coming from YYZ, make sure you have a long connection or are flying AC metal. Weather has been awful and short UAX flight are first on the chopping block for cancellations...

Thanks all. I'll go with UA. Flying LX makes me transfer twice, once in YUL and then ZRH while UA is a single connection. That will be a good occasion to visit the Polaris lounge, I will have 5 hours layover (1st leg on AC)

UA for the Polaris lounge, 787, and better privacy. Don't get your hopes up too much for the onboard food & service, and you'll be fine.

With UA also saving you a connection, you are certainly making the better choice. Enjoy the Polaris Lounge, and safe travels!

You will have to clear security again in EWR after taking the AirTrain to Terminal C - just keep that in mind.

IMHO, flown every flavor of Polaris but the 781, and Swiss J on A330 and 773, I much prefer the polaris hard product, especially the bedding. Polaris lounge > Anything non Swiss F, overall I would pick UA 9/10 on this.

Am I not better off taking the shuttle between terminal A and terminal C?

You could check out the security line at UAs Terminal A wing after you exit the security from AC flight. If the line is not long, you can go through the security there and get on the airside shuttle to Terminal C (go downstairs from Gate A28).

If you are flying in on AC, the shuttle does not stop at the A1 wing of Terminal A.
