Which seats "Polaris" 789 and 772?
Firstly apologies if these are covered else where. I had a search and couldn't find anything related.
I am currently booked on UA business and disappointed to learn that the aircraft won't be fitted with the new polaris hard product. I was hoping for some insider knowledge about the best seats on the planes. I generally prefer a window seat and understand that unfortunately this means climbing over someone. I prefer the feel of a bit more privacy at the window and I'd rather be the climber than the climbee though.
On the 789 I am currently booked in 2L.
5 and 8 A/L Are also available as are a number of B-K
For the 772 I am in 10k, which doesn't seem to get great reviews, but was the only window available. Other than that there is 6-10 C-H free.
any hints, tips and thoughts are appreciated.

Everything You Wanted to Know About Where to Sit on a pmUA 3-Cabin 777 Version 2
There's a decent chance the 772 gets swapped for a Polaris retrofitted aircraft.

A quick search finds:

There are one or two others for the 777, depending on the exact variant you have.

There are a number of “everything you wanted to know about where to sit on a [insert aircraft here]” threads. Here are links for the three planes you are concerned with

To sum it up, the general consensus is that on the non-polaris 789, the bulkhead seats in the second cabin (Row 6) are the preferred ones. All bulkheads have a larger footwell which is a huge advantage. The bulkheads in the second cabin are usually quieter than in the first cabin, however they usually only have 1 window. That said, you might be better off in the front cabin.
As for the 772, it sounds like you are in the sUA 772 with 8 across in J (since you are in a “K” window seat. I’m not familiar with this plane, but check out the link above. Also, there is about a 30% chance that this will be switched to a Polaris 772. Look for equipment changes any time starting at t-72.

Last fall I booked Center bulkhead second cabin...and a week before the flight I was kicked out and had to find another seat. Common? (SIN-SFO nonstop)

I would book seat 6H or 6C and then keep monitoring the map for if 6A or 6K open. Also you might get a change of plane configuration. For my flight tomorrow we already got switched to a Polarized 772 on Sunday and then by 10:00 AM we got swapped back to the original pmUA 772.

I really like any aisle seat in Row 6. There's little traffic and noise in that Row (unless the neighbor is noisy). I really dislike Row 10 but good for me I only had to sit there once.
