United seems to be canceling flights to BHM 3 May 2019
 

Thus far, four folks heading to a wedding in BHM have had their flights canceled from different cities with only last minute notice. One from DCA, two from IAH (different flights) and one return from BHM to IAH. So disappointing! And the UAL team offered flights 20+ hours later so important events will be missed.

United doesn't fly DCA-BHM. Maybe a connecting flight?

One IAH-BHM flight, UA 5715, has been cancelled for maintenance. The later two flights today are delayed moderately (one for weather, one for late inbound) but not cancelled.

Hope everyone gets where they need to be! Always good to leave a little buffer if flying before a wedding.

If there are other flights that work, even on a different airline, call UA and ask to be put onto them -- especially for passengers on the flight that was cancelled for maintenance.

United doesnt fly DCA - BHM. All AA DCA - BHM flights are operating today - none are cancelled. If they were flying UA from DCA - BHM, they would probably fly over Chicago. All Chicago - BHM flights are operating today. No DCA - ORD flights were cancelled? are you sure they were on UA DCA - BHM?

Maybe they are looking for an excuse to skip the wedding:p and didn't figure anybody would actually look.

UA4366 and UA6159 arrived early
UA5715 was canceled
UA5825 and UA5572 still plan to operate, 25 min WX delay (no seats available for sale)

WN has seats on the 8 PM out of HOU, WN will not take a UA ticket (or anybody)

It's also a 2-3 hour drive from ATL to BHM. If you really want to get there today and can't get on a flight a change to ATL and a rental car might be the way to go.

Looks like any DCA-XXX-BHM flight was a problem only because of the IAH-BHM cancellation.
