New Routes from Dulles: Fort Myers and Sarasota

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...300830123.html

Looks like Fort Myers is mainline (73G or A320) and Sarasota is ERJ-175

More flights to Florida from Dulles is always a welcome news. Hope UA makes the IAD-MIA service yearly rather than seasonal.

great news! SRQ has grown on me, especially since the new TPA consolidated rental car center opened. it's super convenient to AMI and lido.

hopefully there's an early evening departure that connects with the late departure bank at IAD (and allows a day at the beach before heading back north).

Both are welcome additions on any equipment (well, any other than CRJ200 and E145).

Now, if they could only add GNV and DAB (the latter of which PMCO served), I'd be able to visit all friends and family in FL without a 1.5+ hour drive (from JAX, TPA, and MCO).

Great news especially for Fort Myers as a quick spring training trip But why not PBI too?

IAD-RSW is not new. I flew this route many times before they axed it, leaving only ORD-RSW, later supplemented by EWR-RSW. Good to see the reinstatement.

I know, but it's nice to have it back.

SW Florida has been losing its "seasonality" for several years. Airfares there are typically higher than TPA...or MCO. Surprised UA took so long to reinstate.

I am on the EWR-RSW flight a lot, and throughout the year, and it is seldom full. Mid-week, mid-January, the upgrade list was something like 35 strong, and about a dozen GS/1K preboarded.

Woo hoo! We had just decided to visit Marco Island again over the winter break so this is very welcome news and already booked 4 roundtrip tickets on IAD-RSW!

So, so happy to hear about more flights to SRQ. Our daughter goes to New College of Florida in Sarasota and the campus abuts the airport. She can walk to the airport in about 5 minutes and nothing is quite more convenient than that. This is great news.

Why is IAD-MIA seasonal. Miami is a huge destination.
