United & Wow Air Rebooking

United is offering discounted tickets for people who were impacted by Wow Air's shutdown.
The prices are as follows:
K Fare: 50
L Fare: 100
T Fare: 225
S Fare: 275
Plus Tax.
Must call 1-800 to book as they'll need to verify (not sure how)

If UA's process is like Icelandair's, applicants for these fares will have to provide a WOW ticket number (which UA can presumably look up to verify) showing that they are displaced.

The numbers you provided are the discounts off the fares.

Example a $400 K fare will cost $350

Wonder if the grounding of the max fleet around the world sped up the repossessions? Probably a need for available leased aircraft right now.

WOW had a lease contract for sure. If WOW did not pay and the planes got re-possessed, that's fine. But pulling the planes in light of a MAX grounding? I would call, if this was true, that an act of bad faith.

There is an ongoing thread for the discussions of WOW's financial demise,
WOW headed for bankruptcy [operations ceased 28 March 2019]
-- this has been long coming and long predicted. Discussions of the what and why of WOW are best done it the referenced thread.

This thread is for UA's response to the situation.
