Why does UA's trash award search refuse to show JFK/LGA?

Weather you search "NYC" "JFK" or "LGA" as departure award search ONLY shows results ex-EWR. Is there any work around to actually be able to search on united.com?

UA search no longer taking NYC for airport name?

I can get DEN-LGA awards to show up...NYC works too (results include both EWR and LGA)

I typed in NYC-LHR and got only EWR. I changed the search at the top back to NYC, re-ran the search, and now see EWR, JFK, and LGA...

This says "JFK" searches will garner "NYC" results, JFK searches are still only returning EWR results for me.

Mine might have worked because I chose "NYC - All Airports" from the drop down when I typed "NYC" in ... note that this was the SECOND option in the drop down. Perhaps it defaults to the first on the list, which was indeed EWR (only).

Have been searching "NYC" and "JFK" only getting EWR results.

I can get JFK in the results if I search, say, FRA>>JFK or FRA>>NYC (on LH, of course, since UA no longer flies into JFK). What are you using for the origin airport?

What dates are you looking for? It could be that there are no seats available out of JFK for your dates. Searching "NYC - All Airports" gives me results for LGA, EWR and JFK. You do need to click on the "All flights' option in order to see the JFK flight as the first 20 are all EWR and LGA.

No problem here. There may be other concerns, The first "NYC" option specifically limits to EWR. The second is "all airports." I just ran NYC-DEN and came up with both EWR & LGA - DEN. It goes without saying that UA does not serve JFK, so that is out of the question on UA metal.

More helpful if we knew OP's specific search.

The search function has been extremely buggy lately. I think they're doing lots of work on the back-end (no doubt to allow further "flyer friendly" revenue enhancements).

Every single time they've "updated" the website the functionality has decreased. It's exponentially less usable than it was say four years ago.
