The tables are listed as "reward" followed by "cost." You have them backwards -- you get 2K MileagePlus miles for 8K MR points (1:4), or 5K MP for 16K MR (1:3.2), 10K MR for 24K MR (1:2.4), 25K MP for 56K MR (1:2.24), or 50K MP for 112K MR (1:2.24).

The best value of all is the travel package, where you get miles at 1.1:1 (!) after subtracting out the cost of the hotel reward. For 270K MR points, you can get 132K MP miles and a 7-night Category 5 certificate (150K MR points on its own).

Scheme ending?

Mods Do not know if this deserves its own thread ? BUT
Just received a letter from Marriott Rewards saying that my Gold Status will expire in Feb 2018 and inviting me to stay another 14 nights prior to Dec 31 2017 so that I can remain a gold member for another year. Received status via united but have heard nothing from them! Has anyone else received a similar letter or should I assume computer glitch?

Wow I wonder if they're keeping the DL relationship from SPG instead.

I haven't gotten one yet. Mail takes longer to get to Hawaii. Maybe the letter is in a UA hold right now.

A note on this - though it probably belongs in the Rewards Plus thread. If one is a Marriott Vacation Club Owner, one can also book a 5-day Cat 1-5 cert - very useful for shorter stays.

Was not confirmed until late December last year.

Could easily be discontinued depending on if marriott/spg wants to continue with delta or united.

I can't believe I've never heard of this until I got an email from MileagePlus yesterday about a trip I recently booked.

One question that I don't see anyone asking, and looking thru the terms isn't mentioned.

Does it matter what Credit Card I use to pay for the hotel with once I click thru the RewardsPlus email to Marriott's site? I'd obviously want to use my Chase/Marriott card for this.

It does not. But if you have an SPG Amex, you should use that instead. Marriott card will earn 5x Marriott points. SPG Amex will earn 2x SPG = 6x Marriott.

It's really frustrating. I just got SPG Platinum. I'm about 4k PQM/$400 PQD from United Silver, and have no idea if I actually need to take that flight to keep it for all of 2018 or if my SPG -> Marriott status is enough.

Gotcha thanks. Unfortunately don't have that card but good to know.
