Most 1k on a flight you have seen

This morning’s flight from IAH to SFO, about 40 people with 1k status in pre boarding line.

UA_Flyer Mar 4, 2019 6:09 am

65 on a HKG-ORD flight.

considering it is a 737 900 with 179 seats, that means 1 out of five is 1k.

Every darn IAD-SFO (and vice versa) flight... and I take this at least once a month. Always 12/13th on the upgrade list as a 1K. Even when I was GS, this was the worst route to get CPUed on that I have ever traveled :(.

Proportionately? COS-DEN back in January boarded an E175 with over 2/3 of passengers being 1K at preboarding. I think I saw maybe 15 people left after 1K preboard.

I guess the actual # of 1Ks can be somewhat less since non-1Ks travelling w/ a 1K can also pre-board. Still, bet it's above 30 in this case

Since you're responding to the OP's post, I take it that you mean IAH-SFO.
Yes, a 737 Max 9 can fly that far (1635 NM).
Even IAD-SFO (~2400 NM) should be no problem on a 737-900ER or 737 Max 9.

Don't know how many 1K's but on my flight from GRU-IAH last Thursday night the gate agent said there were 15 GS on the flight. The 1K line was probably 25 people deep at least.

A recent flight I had on an ERJ-175 had 40 1Ks. That was according to the gate agent after I noted how many people seemed to board with the 1K call. More than half the plane.

I was referring to HKG-ORD. I guess I misread...65/179 is clearly not 1 in 5.

That reminds me of a flight out of IAD on an RJ-145 that was part of a FT Do that Lucky/Ben was coordinating. There was a bunch of UA Forum members flying and the poor gate agent was totally unprepared for the hoard that queued up when she called for Boarding Group 1. There's been a few FT-related flights on UA that probably were unusually GS and 1K heavy.

Don’t remember the number, but it sure felt like a 1K convention on a SEA-ORD (739) flight I took back in January. I was pretty far down the CPU list as a plat, and they ran out of overhead bin space before the end of group 2.

findark Mar 4, 2019 12:31 pm

I don't usually get a chance to count 1Ks, but a year or two back I was on an EWR-SFO flight with 22 GS. Group 1 was over 100 people, and I assume at least half were 1K.

KIX-SFO earlier this year - at least 30 in the dedicated 1k line on a pretty empty flight with about 6 empty seats in Polaris.

Was visiting some family for the holidays and was surprised to see about a dozen yellow handle wraps on that route and that's just counting the ones that had to green-tag.
Don't forget military can also preboard, so that may have skewed some numbers.
