Carry-on and large garment bag?

Flying United First Class on Tuesday.

Am I allowed to being a normal sized carry-on suitcase plus a light, full sized garment bag?

it seems the rules say NO but won’t first-class attendants just hang it up for you?

Appreciate help with an answer

The rules say no, as you said. If we said "yes" and then the FA said "no", would you be mad at us?

Many might but not all aircraft have closets. And those that do tend to have other items so at best the garment bag will be scrunched in.
Which aircraft are you flying?

Technically 'no' but there's a +/- 99% chance they won't hassle you.

It has a closet and as long as we are talking a bag hold 1 or 2 items you probably will be OK. If are talking a suiter bag, then probably no -- you will not get past the GA with a regular bag and a suiter bag.

Thank you everyone.

I will abstain from bringing the garment bag as the risks are too great.

Thanks for the advice
